*****Freak's National Signing Day Thread, Live as the commits sign, Feb. 7th, 2018

Pruitt's strategy seemed to be to get a bunch of really highly rated 4-5 star guys on campus at the last minute, swing for the fences and hope for the best. It didn't work out as well as Pruitt probably would have liked.

It would have been nice to get a couple big surprises today, but it just didn't happen.

We have to keep things into perspective and look at what Pruitt stepped into, a big mess. To ask him to pull elite players away from the top teams on short notice might be a bit much.

Willie Taggert did it with just a little time as Pruitt, Mario Cristobal at Oregon as well did the same.

on the show on Espn 2, 2 people on Copeland’s table had on Tennessee’s hats

Hopefully not trolling

It’s FSU, coastal school, better education, with also deep tradition and they didn’t go 4-8. He also didn’t have to juggle jobs and has HC experience.

We’re a pretty easy troll target today it appears. Kids are gonna have their fun. Let it roll off.

Quick question for some older vols, what signing day was the worst on record based on your recall?

Probably the worst were Battle’s last two years in 75 and 76. Johnny had a great class in 77, but still it took him about 7 years to get competitive.

More recently, Fulmer’s ‘99 class was very bad coming off a NC year.... losing Gardner and Cutcliff had a lot to do with that.

Then Fulmer’s 08 class was his worst... that started the big decline we are on now.

Now in 2018, we’re still digging out.... but today was not the worst I remember... considering we were 0-8, it’s a good class.
