i honestly thought some of those recruits we would get is all, i think this thing is still trending down and not up is all


it hasnt really gotten better for me as a vol grad and fan since the 4-8 so it has to be worse then the 4-8 that wasnt the bottom if we still trending down

thats basic logistics at least directionally speaking


and realistically you expected to sign 6 guys today so far, realistically?

i dont think things have gotten that much better, i dont know if we hit rock bottom. this entire year has been **** jsut cause its 2018, im still counting this signing day against last football year

Welcome to the reality of how really bad recruits see us now after the worst Losing year in Tennessee history.

That makes recruiting top kids MUCH harder and every other coach is telling them about our bad footVol Team.

Deck has been stacked against Pruitt from the beginning.

I can damn sure GUARANTEE you one thing, Fulmer and Pruitt are NOT happy about much anything right now.

Now they have to try to put on a happy face as the travel across the great state of Tennessee and try to spin this into something positive to some of our most loyal fans thhat spent their $$$$ to see them ad ave breakfast, lunch or dinner with them.

I would NOT want either of their jobs right now.

Remember this my friends...Pruitt is used to being on the road recruiting nonstop all the time, visiting kids at their game, in their homes, getting to really know and become friends with the kids and their parents so they can learn he's a down to Earth, Honest man and all those personal visits got him great recruiting results.

NOT anymore, he's a Head Coach and NCAA rules say that he can have ONLY 1 personal visit, ONLY 1.

That's a VERY short time to convince the kid to come to the hill and to convince the parents that he'll take very good care of their son and do his best to shape him into a very good man.

That's a huge mountain to climb and today Pruitt learned several lessons that will help us all going forward.

The class of Pruitt recruiting 101 will be ongoing with all his other coaches from now on and making certain that Pruitts messages to the kids and parents are sold in the right ways so that when Pruitt gets his 1 visit the table will have already been well set for him to have a much better chance to close the deal.

I'd love to have the number 1 recruiting class too but I'm happy we got some good footVol players that want to be on the hill.

I'm happy because I believe we finally got some good coaches that will teach and train these kids how to workout, study in class and in the filmroom and learn how the players that WIN Championships take care of their business the right ways.

This is the 1st step back up the mountain to the top where Tennessee footVol always belongs.

I love my Vols so I'm going to support every player, coach, assistant and everyone else involved that are going to work hard to get my Vols better every year until we're back on top for the long term.

It's obviously going to take a few hard years but this journey will be well worth it when we reach the Summit again.

We've been bricking and booming for most of Butch's tenure on signing day and busting when it comes time to play. I'm gonna give this guy a chance to recruit for a whole year and to develop talent he already has. I will take his recruiting class every time over the one Butch had lined up if it means Butch is coaching this fall.

I’ll say it again. I think it’s pretty realistic. After the season, the coaching search, and the AD situation, I’m more surprised at how well we did at the early signing period. UGA is the “hot” team right now. So I am not surprised we are missing out to them. The other big names were out in CA. Again, not surprised they stayed out west. Do I wish we did better? You bet. But I’m not surprised. We have a first time HC taking over a mess of a program. The fact we have any kids rated higher than 3 stars at this point is definitely trending up(as slight as it might be) in my opinion. This upcoming season will be a big statement for Pruitt, and next year’s class will be a huge indicator to his recruiting ability.

So i looked at UT, UGA and FL class as of right now where they stand. UT has 6 commits in there front 7. UGA has 9 and FL has 2. If UT can snag Gooden that would give us 7 obviously. Fl is on thin ice not recruiting there front 7 this class. Could come back to haunt them. Bama has 6 commits to there front 7.
