Freeze "Offer in Hand" For Florida Job

I think Bob Stoops name will be floated with several jobs (again) so that his agent can parlay it into a raise (again). The electric bill level pay went up this past year on that castle in Norman. :)

If Stoops wants the job, I don't see how the other guys can angle this for a raise. Unless Chip Kelly commits to leaving the Eagles after their season and playoffs end (provided they'd hire him despite his past), I'd expect Stoops to be at the top of the list. If he wants the job, I don't see how any of this Freeze stuff happens.

Well unless Foley just hands out 4+ million offers over the phone it was all Sexton lesking false info. Foley was in Orlando for BOT meeting on Sunday and in Gainesville Monday so he never met with HF.

Sexton is not his agent.

Really good hire for florida IMO if this is a done deal

They should talk to the Arizona State head coach also. McElwain would be a great hire. I hope he wouldn't have the impact that SOS had in 1990 if hired.

Jim McElwain feels like a very average hire for a Power 5 school. I can't see him being much more than a consistent 8 win guy who gets you to the SEC title game once every four years or so. UF needs something better.

He would be a great pick for Michigan. Michigan hasn't been in this bad of shape since the mid 1960s.

Eh. If Les is willing to take it, then...

Also, I think Justin Fuente has the higher ceiling as a coach. Getting Memphis to 9-3 is a darn miracle.

By the way, I think Nebraska would be a much better fit for McElwain.

I agree about Fuentes, there's no way he's at Memphis in two seasons.

Les Miles will be using Michigan for a new contract at LSU. That article about Butch turning down Michigan even mentioned that probability.

He'd come if offered. Period. Great retirement spot after 5 or 6 years. Just a question of if they offer him or not. I don't think they do b/c lots of younger up-and-coming guys who would be able to stay longer, but who knows.

No matter who the coach is that lands in Gainesville, we may have to work to keep our current RB coach.

What's a good retirement spot? Surely you don't mean MI?

Rex Ryan and Tom Coughlin will soon be available - and probably 10 other NFL HCs

I've said from the beginning that fla will be spurned by several of these big names. Then reality will set in, and you will start hearing names that are flying under the radar. When I first saw the list I immediately thought mcelwain, but then I heard the buyout was 7 mil. But then I heard on the radio that the buyout could possibly get done and it wasn't percieved as a problem. If that is the case I think mcelwain will be the new coach at fla after a few big names fall by the wayside. It's just hard for me to think that a program would be willing to risk that much on the front end just to sign a hc to see if he works out. if it's not him, I imagine it will be some other obscure name not even being mentioned at the moment. I feel like an expert at this coaching hiring business after what we've went thru the last few years.

You might be money here

This is Jimmy Sexton leaking info to get him s guy more money. Best believe if numbers are floating Freeze has agreed to he job.

Which brings me to Foley and his hiring history. JF doesn't tip his hand.

Jimmy reps Freeze, Mora and JW.

Please explain this to me again.
