no way, but it has been about 3 years since Ive been there.

I lived about 5 minutes down the road from that place until I was about 12 years old. I ate there so much I got burnt out on it.

The Catfish House, Pizza Hut, Ponderosa and Larry's were the only places to go for the longest time.

one thing i will add to mba's post....Rex, it does put things in perspective......as bad as the FL and Bama games were last year, that little girl just looked up and smiled at me anyway......made both games easier.

plus my daughter gets it...eve at 3 1/2 months old...this was taken during the FL game last year.....tha'ts my girl!!!:eek:lol:

Nice... I don't have a pic like that, but my daughter was singing Rocky Top when she could talk. :good!:

Seems alot of students are turning on Hambone over the ticket thing. Phil better hope MH doesn't bail for a private sector gig just yet. I doubt Fulmer will have the luxury of installing another puppet as AD next time around. Maybe Paul Dee is available? Lots of South Floridians are heading for the mountains these days.

The odds are that Phil will be the next AD after he breaks Neylands record and retires. So, there's no need for another puppet.

Wonder how many years Phil will be AD?

I'm willing to bet CPF does not become the AD at Tennessee. Once he's done, he's done. I think he wants to enjoy his retirement.

That's not going to happen. The days of old coaches getting AD jobs are over. Somewhere along the line it dawned on people that multi-million dollar budgets need to be overseen by professional administrators and not old coaches.

It's a thought so many NegaVols should at least consider. If they really think Ham is a puppet, why couldn't the puppet master simply take over?

I agree with GaVol. In fact, I think that if Phil could become AD he might have already hung it up. GaVol is right, the days of promoting the old coach to AD are over unless you hfc has a Harvard MBA. It is my understanding that Phil was going to be fired after the S.Carolina game. If he was that close last season, he's not on nearly as solid ground as some of you may think.

I just do not believe that and I want to believe it. Phil was never in any danger of losing his job. It's going to take another losing season for that to be the case. I honestly believe that we are going to have to ride this out until he breaks Neyland's record and then retires.

Had he lost to anyone after Bama in the regular season he was done

if it was that close, how did last second wins over medicore teams and a very, very subpar recruiting class save him?

because beating ARk, and those two wins against SC, KY and Vandy got us to the SEC title game.

so we're perceived as a championship caliber team? do you think we were?
no, i don't think we were percieved to be a championship caliber team. i think the perception is that GA and FL did more to lose it than we did to win it.

i don't agree with that, because we did have to win 4 straight conference games. had we lost any of them, we don't go to ATL.

like i said last year in a few threads...it wasn't our fault that FL and GA lost(and we did beat GA for head to head) the opportunity presented itself, and we took advantage of it.

the notion that it was 'handed' to us to me is still laughable, considering we beat GA, and won our last 4 conf. games.

the reason i understand the perception is what i said in the rearview this week.........59-20 and 41-17 are not being forgotten by anyone, and nor should they be.

Generally speaking teams that get beat that badly by their biggest rivals usually don't find themselves playing for conf. titles. so i do understand it, and agree with it to a certain extent.

if we are supposed to be championship caliber, those are the kind of games we should at the very least be competitive in. we weren't last season.

the other side of the coin is afte those two games, this team could have folded up camp for the season.......they didn't, they reeled off 4 straight wins, including a huge game against Arkansas. there should be some credit given for that, while also acknowledging LSU, GA and Auburn helped our cause.

i.e...we don't get to atlanta with out these four things happening: us beating GA, GA losing to SC, FL losing to LSU, Aub and GA, and us winning 4 straight to close the season.

all had to happen for us to get there. it did. i'm not sorry about it.

You don't really believe that do you?
