How close are you to Monterey? I know all the posts are true and backed up with solid evidence...but that's just me. Unfortunately, all the symptoms of an upcoming grandchild, but a false alarm. You have a happy and safe 4th.

We are 125 miles or so from Monterey.
We are in northeast TN.

ahh them false alarms are not good.
it shouldn't be long now. You might end up with a little firecracker born on the 4th JuLy.

You have a happy and safe 4TH also.

If you had as much of your life spent with the program, would you not have fought to stay?

Be honest. If you had a job like his, invested half your life to the institution, etc, and you were given that ultimatum, would you give in as easily as you say he should have? I know I sure as hell wouldn't. If you honestly would, then you're not the right person for the job.

If your employer tells you it is over that means it is over. There was no one Phil could go to to try and change the outcome. For all the moaning and groaning people have made over Hamilton for this is silly. This decision was not made by Hamilton alone, it was his job to inform Phil of this decision and give him the 2 options. Phil chose to force the university to fire him thus bringing with it the negative publicity.

Bottomline is when your job is over no matter how much time you have put in, over is over and for someone who claims to love the university so much he sure did place it in a negative light which shows a lot about his true character.

I find the moronic statement "he gave half his life to UT" hilarious! Failure is robbing UT when it hurts the most. He used to be a winner, he accepted mediocrity, he became a loser, now he's a Failure.

A HOF coach nobody wants. Even crappy Arkansas knew better.

Stop beating around the bush. Would you or would you not fight for your job if you loved it and the institution as much as Phil did? What if a game "was over"? Would you want them to just pack it up and give up? No, because then you'd whine and complain about the coaches letting the players quit.

How many coaches played for their team, started at the bottom rung, and finished with 25 years within the program? Oh yeah, that's right. And that's about half the man's age. Learn some math, and maybe you'll succeed a little more.

No I would have enough dignity to bow out with my head held high and with character. The light that Phil cast on himself and the university by forcing the issue has damaged not only the university but Phil as well. As far as your game was over scenario, you are talking about 2 entirely different situations and neither one are related to the other. There is a difference between a game and your employer coming to you with a decision that was made by the board of directors explaning the 2 options and neither involved fighting to keep your job....it was Phils decision to make it ugly.

Failure supporters continue to prove time and time again their ignorant stupidity.

How exactly did His Fatness "give" half his life when he took a free education, took a high paying job, and took millions for wrecking the program? Seems to me UT is the one that's given to Failure half his life.

I feel your pain. It must suck. Whatever it is.

Randy Sanders spent 22 years as a player and coach the University of TN before becoming Fulmer's fall guy after the 2005 season.
Randy was 40 in 2005. if I can do basis math, he had "given"over half his life the university.

More power to him, I always liked the guy for the most part, even though I like Cutcliffe better. I never demanded his firing either.

So now an offensive coordinator equals a head coach? Right......

No one said anything about being a head coach.

He asked who has played and coached at a university for half their life. Randy did play and coach at UT for 22 years.

Last time I checked CPF was HC for 17 years.
Do you want to dismiss his playing years and the time he was at UT as an assistant?

Randy was loyal to UT. He went from player to coach at UT. Did you man Phil do that?

i think wrecked the progarm is a bit of an exageration...he won the only NC, you've seen in your lifetime, and had 15 winning seasons, won 75% of his games in 17 seasons...

Coach Cut proved he was the key to Fulmer's success.

Fulmer - Cut = Failure
