2 losing seasons during a 17 year span sure would look good about now. We are a almost a year away from the 2013 season and even Dooley supporters are saying 6-6, 7-5 next year at beest no matter who is coaching. How sad is that? :eek:lol: Fulmer may have needed a wake up call, but he would have had this team playing a hell of alot better than it is right now. His record supports it.

There is no doubt about this.

Everyone says Wyoming, but if we are truthful, we probably go 7 - 6 in 2008 if Hambone doesn't fire Fulmer mid-season. It would have helped Crompton tremendously too. Not a great year, but as good as anything we've had since.

Not sure about Crompton. Kiffin helped him a lot.

But, I agree with all else. :hi:

Wyoming was a win without the firing... that's almost a certainty. The bowl game victory (7th win in that scenario) would really depend on who we drew as an opponent, of course... but it could have easily been a winning season. The current Vols team probably has more talent, but that team was better coached.

But, Kiffin was a good hire. Bad contract that should have done more to protect UT financially if he left early (e.g. much bigger buyout to leave after 1 year).

I think everyone has realized that the firing was a big mistake. The Dooleynites even know this although they won't admit it. But regardless of the past, Disney bought Lucas film so who cares now?

All hail Lord Mouse.

In truth the three prequels could all be Disney ****e.

All hail Lord Mouse.

I guess one reason why I like Gruden, so much is because of his UT, ties. I really think the man for the job is someone who knows Tennessee and respects who we are. Gruden, seems to appreciate our university and our state. Dooley, is a Dooley.

I like you.

No doubt. Maybe the university had too much "good ol' boy" networking going on at one time, but I think we all appreciate now someone who has ties to the university and respects the tradition and the legacy.

If you don't respect the traditions, the pomp, and the pagentry, college football is nothing more than the NFL combine league.

If you want a real eye opener get on youtube and start looking up Vol game footage from Fulmer/Chavis era. Some of you may even have the games still on VHS!

Those Vols look like NFL teams compared to what we currently have. That's the way you play football. Al Wilson, was a dang beast!

It's amazing how far from grace we have fell.

For me, I try to imagine LSU wearing orange. That helps keep the memory alive.

Back in those days, we were one of the top 3 producers of NFL talent... year in and year out.

Yep, we were! 2 SEC championship titles for all that talent should be enough to settle the Fulmer debate.

Yea! Plus that ridiculous BCS Championship. What a freaking waste. I am so glad we got rid of those losers.
Now Dooley/Sunseri, that's a winning combo fans can be proud of!
