Don't you realize that losing 4 games out of 14 is roughly the same as losing 5 out of 36? Don't you realize that losing to a depleted LSU team is pretty much the same as going on the road to beat a team that made it to the National Championship? Don't you realize that winning the East is the same as winning the SEC? Do you not understand that losing to Louisville is roughly the same as getting blown out by two 6-6 teams?

I do now.

Fair enough... but I'll surrender my sword to you--and not to Hat, BPV, or anyone else who 'piled on.'

:mf_surrender::mf_surrender:
I didn't pile on. I'm the first one that said I am 100% certain that your 12=12 garbage was absolutely wrong. I had actually seen the poll and you clearly had not.

While proving you ignorant was entertaining, it was not piling on. You might go check what transpired.

Im still waiting for MBA to explain how you cant be a true Tennessee fan unless you went to school there.

It was shocking to me, at first. Fortunately, utmba had some really persuasive arguments to help me accept it.

I guess that my education level was subpar in comparison to his and that's why it took me longer to "get it".

Im still waiting for MBA to explain how you cant be a true Tennessee fan unless you went to school there.

That point cannot be explained. I didn't go to UT, if you call me anything less than a bleed orange Vol fan there will be problems.:p

I didn't say that. I know a lot of UT fans who haven't attended the university.

My comments were in the context of answering the question... how could anyone support programs from two different universities?

One answer: one could attend two or more.

Now, if BPV does't support his alma mater's teams and pulls for the Vols to beat them... that seems a bit odd.

Not really. I've been a UT fan all my life. However, if I'd earned a full ride to Harvard, I wouldn't all of a sudden quit cheering for UT. Conversely, if I couldn't afford to attend UT or for some other reason couldn't make the move to Knoxville, I'd not put my orange clothing in the trash.

Consider Arkansas dentists. The state of Arkansas has no dental school. Thus, the majority of them attend UT in Memphis. I see them on campus everyday. They are about as loyal to the Razorbacks as you can get.

If you are a Vol period and you do have an education, then why haven't you attended the university?

You've also answered my question. You don't know UT as a university.

Since UT is mostly just a sports organization to you, why not talk pro sports. Are you a Titans fan? Do you like the Titans in pro basketball and pro baseball as well?

are you trying to say that you didnt mean what you wrote in the above quotes? The stadium is full every Sat of people that "dont know UT as a university" and guess what? It doesnt diminish them in the least. I suggest you stick to pulling for all UNC's teams, nit just BB.

Where in those quotes does it say that I don't think people who do not attend UT should not be UT fans?

You take a lot of things out of context even when you're corrected and given the context.

Throw stones as much as you want, you're certainly no sinner. And far be it from you from attempting to decieve.

Because that's how the AP does things for basketball. The only post-tournament rankings are done by the coaches poll.

That's strangely different from football where all media organizations do polls after the bowl games are over.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the polls being the final evaluation in football, while the NCAA tournament is the final evaluation in basketball.

If there's only one poll, all the experts who jumped on the 5 and 7 final rankings that were provided (add them up, compare the inequalities, etc) look a little silly (too... ).

this all might matter, if the original point was how the two sports determine their champions......but of course it wasn't.

not to mention that there is 1 after the tourney poll published, that does in fact refute the 12=12 argument. the fact the AP doesn't, neither helps nor hurts your cause.

it was, however, about how the two programs at TN could be viewed so differently after having similar results.

let's stay on point.

Oh... it does matter.

In basketball, it's about where you finish in the NCAA tournament.

16 + 8 = 24 / 2 = 12

12th would be the average ranking of any team who loses in the Sweet 16.

No, they don't. Tennessee was fifth in the final AP poll. Period. We're simply using the same kind of ridiculously intransigent logic you employ. If you don't like how we annihilate your mindless, Fulmer slurping comparisons the cyberdoor is open. You do fit the Fulmerista profile. You make a foolish comparison, then try to deflect and deny its stupidity. That's akin to going 9 years without a conference title at a football power and still trying to dupe people into believing your program is "on the right track." Not to worry. You, like Fulmer, will be gone soon.

You keep trying to get me to leave. I keep taking that as a compliment, but please quit. You're going to make me blush.

You shouldn't take it as a compliment. The only people I make it a point to try and drive out of here are imbeciles. That should tell you something.

I don't know. He used to claim that the best thing UT could do was promise Cutcliffe the head coaching position in order to retain him as our offensive coordinator.

I'm not trying to do anything. I'm telling you what's going to happen. Sooner than later, you're gone. This movie always has the same ending. You're just another sequel.
