On one hand I hear we need Fulmer back.

The argument "we don't need to go back" in the same sentence "we need to get back to the Tennessee of old" lol

Just a question for those that say they know what is going to happen.

Who remembers 97' loss to Florida Peyton's senior year. If you asked anyone or listened to any of the call in shows our chance's of a NC were done. Everyone was so down on any idea that we even had a chance at a NC with Tee as QB. He doesn't have the talent or arm of Peyton and if Peyton couldn't do it no way was Tee going to do it. I remember as clear as day. Then in 98' with Tee what happen. NC baby!!!!!

How many of you called it?

Now who our coach is going be is anyone's guess. Lucky for me I have the easy job of being a fan. I will support Harts choice and cheer for my team with all my orange blood just like I do in every game. GO BIG ORANGE!!!!!!!

Fulmer is largely responsible for the mess that this program is in. We fired him and paid him $6 million to get out of dodge. We are not going to hire him after firing him.

IMHO- I think the best thing that Dave Hart could do for the program and this fan base is to consider bringing Fulmer back.. Stability is what we need....And WINS are what we need to bring this divided fan base back together for VolNation.

1. Hire Fulmer back immediately with these caviats.

2. Give him only a 3 year contract and set his salary at 2Mil per year. 3yrs only and not one day more...

2. Throw the checkbook at the Greatest Assistant Coaches in America.

3. Instruct Fulmer to mold the next Head Coach i.e learning the traditions - then mentor these assistants with the thought process of "The Best Assistant Becomes The Next Head Coach in Year 4". And make this PUBLIC.. So that there are no misunderstandings.

Please note: I am not a Fulmerite- let's get that out of the way. I just love our football program... I love Tennessee win or lose.

Well think of it from a business point for a second. If you're offering a coach a millions $$$$ you want his 100% loyalty to your institution. Now most in media and most of the rest of the country thought the CPF firing was a terrible mistake. Given that add in how unstable our program has been since his termination. Add those two factors hiring Fulmer anywhere would be a gamble. Would any school want to put themselves into a Kiffen type situation? His name always pop's up when we need a coach. Is it realistic that would coach her again? Probably not, but his name does always come up.

Then again he does run a business and has done some tv commentary. Maybe they just can't get together on staff and/ or $$$$. Kidda like Gruden just hasn't gotten the right offer yet. Just a thought.:zeitung_lesen:
