Who knows. He did spend a year or two there as an assistant early in his career before Majors brought him on the staff at UT. It'll depend on how badly he really wants back into coaching if Vandy does come calling. Maybe he's finally come to terms with the fact that any school with a chance at winning a BCS conference isn't going to be interested in him.
per fanhouse:
Caldwell will coach the entire 2010 season, the Vanderbilt Athletic Director, David Williams, confirmed to FanHouse. Williams said he will "absolutely not" be conducting a coaching search this season.
Yep. The Tennessee job was simply too easy for Fulmer. I hear that Phil will be interviewing most of Vandy's athletic staff to decide if he wants to go ahead and take the job.
right, lol...I forgot he's a terrible coach and the vast list of candidates for Vanderbilt will have a better winning pct. and a national championship ring.
College Football Live said a little while ago that Vandy has already and will continue to talk with Fulmer but also said is interested in ex Clemson coach Bowden.
