Fulmer speaks out

It's kind of off topic, but I was watching a replay of the 98 Florida game the other day. I found it kind of silly that several times during that broadcast, they made it out like winning that game would be the biggest win in UT history, even going as far as to ask Fulmer that very question in the postgame. Disgraceful.

Silly is an understatement. It was a great win, but nowhere near the ballpark of the biggest win in UT history. Why would it be? Because we finally beat them by 3 in overtime after getting blown out 5 games in a row?

We had more NFL draftees during that period, more of our draftees were both All-Pro and perennial Pro Bowl participants and we finished higher in the recruiting rankings every single year of that period.

Think we might have underachieved just a bit???

No...CPF overachieved recruiting.

No...CPF overachieved recruiting.

And CJM too. Problem for them was that neither were nearly as good as game day coaches as they were recruiters. Not a bad thing. Very rarely do you see the the combination of great recruiter and great game day coach. There have been very few of them in the past and there only a small handful now. It's not disrespectful to say CPF isn't in this class. It's reality
