Fulmer to Ark?

From what I heard he said no visit is scheduled but he can confirm he has been contacted. Also said he had a good chance if they didn't hire in house. Claims Ark is a top 10 job in the country. I had a phone call and missed the rest. Damn work getting in the way.

ARK is top 10 job today, but it won't be this time next year. It will be the same old 8-4 job.

I don't think it is a top 10 job now. I could name 10 better coaching jobs shortterm and longterm I don't think it is top 20 job.

They lost to the top two teams last year, and are returning EVERYBODY. It's without question a top ten job THIS YEAR. Next year and long term is a completely different animal.

I thought they lost all 3 receivers. I think they lost a couple off the OL as well.

A new member (TheMcStache) said in another thread that ESPN has supposedly reported that Arkansas has contacted CPF. Since he couldn't start the thread, I did it for him (albeit arguably in the wrong forum (sorry mods))

Any truth to this that or anybody else reporting the same?

No way.

I heard Fulmer started the rumor to get a raise from his current job....Isn't that the norm for UT coaches?

According to Tim Brando the talks got to the point of Arkansas offering him a one year contract but Fulmer wanted a multi-year deal. It appears as though they wanted Fulmer more on an interim basis and Fulmer wanted more of a permanent position. They might still work out a deal.

I heard its basically down to phil or an interem coach.. hope phil takes it and wins the west, just to show all the dumbasses around here how stupid they actually are for discounting his ability.

Don't AD's sometimes call him for advice on who's available/good fit? Seems he's done that before too.

If they get the 1990's version they will, if they get the 2000's version they will wish they had never hired him.

i kinda agree with you. i'm tired of people talking about him. i've always liked him as a coach and human being.
