Fulmer to Indiana.

I understand all of that. I know recruiting at IU is not anything like recruiting kids to come to UT. Still, I think Fulmer would be able to get some decent 3 star recruits and beat the likes of Towson, Western Kentucky, Akron and Arkansas State every year. You never know, he might even get a couple of conference wins here and there.
Lynch is beating those teams. If that's the only goal, they should keep the guy they've got.

Is it really necessary to start this inane threads needless bashing a guy who's been gone for 2 yrs? We've got Dooley...we're moving forward for the future.

If you think about it, this thread brings nothing of redeemable value to VN at all. Can we please cease & desist in creating these types of random-ass banal threads? Please. At this point, I'm almost begging.

Hat is like the rest of us that are tired of our former mafia godfathers' minions that jump up and down at each and every opportunity for Fulmer to turn another school into Outlaw University.

News flash: 'The Warden' is in such high demand for a coaching position he has installed a three foot thick concrete door at his home. This is the reason that other schools have not been able to beat down his front door on 'we won't take no for an answer' coaching misisons.

Yeah, but you said Fulmer probably couldn't match DiNardo's record at IU. That's what I was debating.

You'd be surprised how little Fulmer would accomplish without UT's football infrastructure and resources at his disposal.
I've seen people on here who think that because Kiffin left, others would use Tennessee as a stepping stone. It's not like no one would want this job.

Nothings funnier than South Carolina fans who think they've supplanted Tennessee in the East because the South Carolina has a stronger recruiting base. It's not like Tennessee has enormous recruiting difficulties.

Since his name is mentioned for each and every lousy BCS job that comes open, I figured I'd go ahead and get out front and start a thread on his "candidacy" for the head spot in Bloomington. I'm sure he's preparing his questions for his interview of IU as we speak.

Why does everbody worry about where foolmer may or may not coach at he is a washed up has been

We think it's funny to see those who claimed Fulmer was so great try to answer the question as to why he can't get a new job. Getting fired didn't stop Tubs.

Anyone who thinks Fulmer "wasn't interested" in the Minnesota job is seriously delusional.

guess it's like the good the bad and the ugly

dooley/kiffin/fulmer

Fulmer doesn't get off that easily. He's still responsible for all the juniors and seniors on the team, and there aren't many of them doing anything. The fact that we're playing nothing but freshmen and sophomores on the OL is on him in particular. Hamilton may have done an incompetent job of cleaning up the oil spill, but that doesn't absolve Fulmer for running the tanker aground to begin with.

In a couple of years, none of this will be Fulmer's mess anymore, and maybe by then people will be able to discuss him reasonably on both sides. Not before.

Lynch is worthless. He rode the coattails of Hep to make a bowl game. Oh how I wonder how IU would be if Coach Hep had never passed.

Just about anyone would be better than Lynch. I'd take Fulmer or even Leach. Might as well bring back Corso.

By the way, is there anything more predictable than IU losing an absolute heartbreaker to a ranked team every year?

Some how they always manage to get my hopes only to let me down every single time (With the exception of the 2006 season). Remodeled stadium, and a potentially rabid/drunk fan base, it's time to flourish or atleast make a bowl every couple years.

It would be for a lazy sloth who hasn't worked hard in a decade.

So if a lazy sloth who hasn't worked hard in a decade can average 9 wins a season at Tennessee, tell us all how that SEC title is just around the corner now that he's gone. After all, couldn't any hard working coach win a lot more games here than "just" 9 a year by your logic?

hat; i thought fulmer only wanted to go to a school that had a shot at a championship of some kind. it seems to me he is game to take about any job just to prove that he still can coach !! thoughts ? :ermm: :ermm: :ermm:

Not true. Fulmer has said time and again that he will only go to a program that is interested in winning championships. That means -- great facilities (or the money and willingness to build those facilities), some kind of football history at the school, and I would imagine a willingness to pay him at least $1million/year with a nice back-end pay out.

Moreover, anyone who thinks Fulmer needs any kind of validation of his coaching ability is not a very smart football fan (translation: YOU CRAZY). I know people like to joke on Fulmer, and I also know that Vol fans have short memories (very short), but I have a feeling Fulmer hasn't forgotten the NC, the SEC championships, or his all-time record (or his contract pay-out -- $5million, let me count the ways....)

fulmer / kiffin left a bare cupboard, and dooley's having to compete with little top talent. Very simple.
