There were rumors of this possibility back in August that died down, but I'm hearing from several sources that Fulmer is headed to Louisville after this season.

If you think about it, he could do alot worse. The Big East is basically wide open. There's really not much competition and that's when Fulmer is at his best haha.

Let's hold out on this being a fact as of now, but keep your eyes peeled and tell me if you've heard the same thing....

I don't believe that for a second. You don't work on a replacement for your program a full season in advance (edit: unless you're Penn State or Florida State).

If that were true, he'd be on the sidelines now...

there may have been "talks" about the "possibility" but this was not in the works in January.

He'd get schooled by the likes of Leavitt, Kelly, and Schiano just about every year, IMO.

It will be a different feeling watching him ruin a program from the outside...

i was told by a booster that they were going to make a run at Tuberville at Louisville. But Fulmer would not be bad. Actually I would like that as I pull for Louisville.

Good gawd, I hope not. The fat pumpkin is still gonna be a thorn in our arses.

Good place for him,and should be able to recruit there too.

I have friends in Louisville and they think with the high crime rate in Cincinnati, St. Louis, Louisville, Detroit and the Chicago area he would have an excellent base from which to draw criminals and trash from.

It would be a compromise on what he stated he wanted in his next coaching job, but it would be the best job available.

I'm not certain that Louisville would be interested, nor am I convinced he would be the thing that energizes a fanbase.

The Big East or ACC still might be the best fit for Fulmer out of the BCS conferences. Let's face it, he still does have a pretty impressive list of players in the NFL which is always a boon for recruits. Played right, it could set him at the top of either conference in that regard. But he ought not to go to a program with any measure of recent, sustained success such as the 'Ville. Fan bases around the country are still aware of the state he had UT football in over the last couple years, and that would place him undesirably close to the hot seat right off the bat at a program like that.

PS, I'm not about to predict that Fulmer will succeed in a new job, but it's not far outside the realm of possibility, especially if he brings a good recruiter with him.

I hope they don't realize this.. the entertainment value would be enough to get us through the '10 season if the Vols are fair to middling....

I'm guessing that you forgot that those coaches have done more with less talent than some of those recent Tennessee teams........

Fulmer's nothing but a fat, washed up coach at this point.
