Shouldn't this be moved to the 'Around the NCAA' forum? :haha_oh:

either way...hopefully CPF will end up finding the job he is looking for.

I hope Charlie Strong gets the job. Simply because i think he he has earned a HC gig. And i agree 30 minutes is really short for an interview.....

ESPN is reporting that Fulmer will be named the head coach at Louisville sometime this week or Monday.

is there any chance this turns out to be a good decision?
It will be a great decision for West Virginia, South Florida, Cincinnati, Pitt, Syracuse, UCONN, and Rutgers.

I wish the guy well. I wonder if he will have to sell his house. My parents live just down the road from him, and I can tell you that someone is going to have to have some big $ to take that place off his hands. Be tough to sell a place like that in this economy.

Chris Low just released article saying that Strong is still top candidate at U of L. I wish ESPN would get their stuff together.

Assuming this is true this makes Foolmore 0-3 in trying to land coaching gigs. Bet this is killing his ego.

It's not like he needs the money. UT is paying him $125,000 per month to do nothing.
That's an improvement. We paid him a whole lot more than that to do nothing the last 10 years of his tenure.

on a roll as usual
We had some great years with Fulmer, but he still stayed way too long and brought UT to a horrible level. Some people will always resent him for that, like it or not. I don' t know why you expect people to only be supportive of him.

I guess Louisville couldn't convince Fulmer that they are committed to winning.

They said it on Sportscenter and it's also in the rumors section on their website. Here's a link but you have to be a paid insider to read it.

College Football Rumors - Rumor Central -NCAA - ESPN

Edit: They have since edited the story with no mention of Fulmer anymore. Imagine that, ESPN not having their facts straight :ermm:

Interesting. Sounds like ESPN jumped the gun a little, haha.

"Others who have expressed interest in the Louisville job include Central Michigan coach Butch Jones and former Tennessee coach Phil Fulmer. Sources said Fulmer had a telephone discussion with Jurich Tuesday to discuss the job, but he is not considered a prime candidate for the position."

Here's a thought...maybe Fulmer could get the Cincy gig when Kelly leaves. That is a school that obviously has the potential to compete, but the fans probably still don't expect too much.

I would actually halfway buy that.

It's not that I think everyone should or would supprt him
It just amazing the disdain, and venom some have

On the contrary, Louisville's decision to not select Fulmer proves that they ARE committed to winning.

Fulmer withdrew after conversations between Jimmy Sexton and Jack Swarbrick started taking place
