Fulmer was caught off guard by Hamilton ineptness.

It's a good thing that Hamilton is sending a message. Do you guys want an AD who doesn't hold head coaches accountable? Fulmer is a big boy, makes $2 million a year...he should be able to take a little heat.
I wasn't happy with the Hamilton hire initially. I thought he was just going to be Fulmer's lapdog, but he has impressed me more and more as time goes by.
IMO he was all set to be CPF's lapdog, but he evidently does not want to keep his wagon hitched to that star. My guess is that ADMH knows exactly how strongly CPF is entrenched at UTK right now and ADMH would not be making public comments of the sort he made if, in fact, CPF was a lock to be at UTK for more than another season or two.

Also, when the comments were first made it was reported that ADMH was more or less parroting what Haslam said about the 2 SEC C-ships per decade.

I want Haystacks to be given the full "YOU'RRRRRRE FIRRRRRRRED!!!!" treatment.

I do find it funny that you refer to CPF as tchfcatutk for months and people on the board ask "who are you talking about", but once you moved to Haystacks you received no further inquiry.

Only time he's done it to my recollection. Still, clever observation Lexy...

Welcome to College Sports Report

Fulmer is one of 14 guys who make $2 million or more per year. Still a pretty small group. There are plenty of guys who make less that I'd rather have as HC at UTK.

Not sure how accurate these numbers are. they list tedford at $1.5 which was his base salary last year, his actual compensation was around $2 mil. Next season his base salary is $2.5 mil.

MH should follow the lead of any Fortune 500 Company.Be professonal about it and tell your employee what is going on instead of sneaking around. That's what makes me believe he may not have the best of management skills for his position.I can't fathom anyone not wanting to know their own fate prior to it being publically broadcast.I'm sure if Coach wins another N/C MH will be at the forefront ringing the victory bells.

Why give him a chance to try and rally his supporters? This is not like taking out some anonymous middle management guy in a large corporation. Sometimes you need the hatchetman.

The hatchetman should still have the guts to do it face-to-face.

I'm sure that when the time comes to do the deed it will be done with the respect that befits someone who have given so much to UTK. I've never said that I think CPF is a worthless POS who deserves mistreatment. I just haven't thought he was the best man for his job for about the past 6-7 years.

I'll vouch for 'Billy on at least the past 2 of those 7 years...

Neyland Stadium isn't unsafe. Personally, I wouldn't care if they didn't change a thing. I haven't noticed any glaring problems. As for it not getting filled up, I'm pretty sure we would have no problem selling out games if there was an alligator filled moat surrounding Neyland. No one is going to stop coming to games because Neyland isn't perceived as being on par with other SEC venues.

Actually the ramp near Thompson Bolling Arena does not meet ADA standards. (That's American's with Disabilities Act). If it goes unchanged other aspects of the stadium will certainly become more dangerous.

First I assure you I am in no way grandfathered in. I pay a donation every year plus the cost of the tickets. Thinking of me being selfish is a very wrong thought you are having. I even have two additional seats (which yes I have to pay a donation) and those two seats are given away each and every game to an organization here in Chattanooga for a parent and child to have the thrill of a Vols game. Selfish? You may want to rethink that one.

Second, I was not saying we didn't need to have some structural and cosmetic upgrades, because we do and I will be very proud when we have them. If you will go back and read what I was saying, you will see my point was, Hamilton is making room for the " Mega" donors to have suites at the expense of the average Vols fan. I had the opportunity to watch the Florida game from one of the suites and I have never seen so many "fans" more interested in the food and socializing, I actually felt out of place when I jumped to my feet to cheer about a play. So my point is how long will it be till Hamilton's "mega" boosters just have a big ol party place to entertain and the game will be just an extra benefit.

Good for you. I'm glad you help. I dunno what you are, I said you appeared selfish with your comments and you did. Now you "appear" to be less selfish.

Here's an idea.......why don't you see how the coming season plays out before you put us in the 4 loss column.

You are wasting your letters on hatevol. He is so blinded by his dislike of CPF that he cannot enjoy wins very much. He sets it up to he can bad mouth CPF win or lose. Example. Last year against Cal. He before the game was the only one I can remember calling Cal an easy game and one we should blow out. Not because he truly believed it IMO but to cover both ends.
So dont waste your letters on him.

Management should be respectful to staff members and let them know things before making them public. Even I do that.
As stated previously, I agree that respect is warranted. There is a difference, however, when you are talking about an independently owned business (which I assume is what you have) where the boss' word is final, and public entity where someone who is high enough up the ladder at least has the opportunity to rally supporters (shareholders, fans, whoever) and fight back. Also, I don't think advance notice is the right path when you are talking about lawyers, accountants and other fiduciaries who have legal authority to bind you to a contract control your assets.

Two of my (three) boys, were fortunate enough to be able to watch a game from the Skybox several years ago when they were pre-teen.The food and drinks were free but as far everything else all the screaming, etc., they would much rather be out in the game crowd.

I agree that I would much rather sit in the regular seats, but the availability of alcohol and catered food(usually ribs or buffalo wings) usually sways my decision when the offer has presented itself. I usually get one chance per season to one of our OOC games. I'm not sure how it is in Knoxville, but here alcohol is prohibited everywhere in the stadium EXCEPT the boxes. But it must be brought in the day before.

Fulmer bought an extra year or two with this years recruiting class.....not that he'll do anything with all that talent.....bluechip players are better the first day they step on campus then they are when they graduate
