G. Tech vs FSU

Look. FSU got screwed last year. Period. Argue with a wall if you disagree. But new season. New team. I can laugh at them all I want to lol
Oh I agree. If TCU got into the playoffs with a loss in the post season it didn’t make sense to leave FSU out because they QB got hurt despite going on to win the ACC

FSU had 24 players sit out of the bowl game. What was left clearly was not a championship team. Was their recruiting and transfer portal classes good enough to warrant a top 10 Preseason ranking?

I think both things are true.
1) FSU was overrated. They lost a ton. Their d line was way overrated. One guy on the broadcast said it was the best in the country. Lmao. Their O-line also got whipped all game long. But I do think they’ll get better as the season goes along. That is/was a lot of new in their first game.
2) GT is on the rise. They brought back an experienced team. They’ve been portalling well and sneakily recruiting very well (I think they’re like #21 right now). This won’t be their last big win of the season.

GT is definitely on the rise. I wouldn’t be surprised if they won the ACC tbh

That's not gonna happen.

There's a weird dynamic at play with GT sports.

The powers that be made the decision long ago (think after the 90 NC and the BB Final 4 runs) that they in no way wanted to be viewed as a football/sports school.

Problem being, things degraded to the point that they were pretty much embarrassing to anyone associated with the school. Think UT football at the end of the 2020 season. Rudderless, hopeless. Going through the motions

Last two decades of GT sports have not been much to write home about..

They're trying to hit kind of the sweet spot they were at with Paul Johnson before he got embarrassing. Good enough not to be an embarrassment, but not good enough that any real powers are gonna worry about them very much. Truth be told, they will not be allowed to be a top football team again-unless there is a sea change at the top levels at GT to change direction of course

I am the proud Dad of a North Avenue Engineer, Masters in Structural Engineering, so yeah, Go Jackets!
My father-in-law, God rest his soul, Class of 42 Mechanical Engineering. Loved his Jackets and his Vols. After WWII he was working at Oak Ridge, he decided he needed a degree in Electrical Engineering, so he went to UTK.

Homie I’m well aware and very educated on GT sports. I get what you’re saying but They’re one rise in football in spite of the administration or not.

I personally have Clemson winning the acc this year, but no I wouldn’t be shocked if any 1 of: Miami, FSU (yeah still), NC State, Georgia Tech, or Virginia Tech won it this year.

Great game. GT obviously headed in the right direction. Went to a big RV party a bunch of Tech people had on Lanier Islands- We may have done a tad over overdrinking. The post game shots seemed like a good idea at the time.
