'17 GA ATH DeAngelo Gibbs

High profile Vol at the dome for the GHSA championships that had access to Lawrence........hmmmm

Not a high profile Vol in anyones minds at the dome or anywhere really here in GA...just another guy with access thanks to friends in high places. The key to what I do is being able to gain access to folks while remaining a no name....

Remember I am not and never was a UT student in any capacity and have no official ties to the program other than simply being a donor.

Go on...we are listening.

Just a WAG. Plus, I would rather have AtlantaVol keep posting if anonymity is a requirement.

My WAG was way off. But now I feel better about the things I've heard about us still being in it with Gibbs.

No name - safe with us!

If we do end up with a top 10 class, I think its likely #10 or 9. I dont tuink we get higher than that. I really expected more of the 3* guys we have committed would get bumps. That didnt happen. I guess it still COULD still happen but at this point I am not expecting it. As far as hiw many players Butch can sign, it's always a guessing game.

At this point I would be happy with a top 10 class. Its not going to get us to a championship level, but its still good.

A great team is not built out of one class. You just have to have enough talent from all 4-5 classes to put a championship team on the field. You have to be fortunate to not have many injuries though, which we have not been.

Sooo you're kind of a fly on the wall in some cases and act like you have no interest in what is being said? Lol. I'm not questioning you. I've seen your posts about what you do. Just an analogy

From Chad Simmons:
Alabama 4-star LB commit Markell Benton just said he thinks 5 star DeAngelo Gibbs will pick Alabama this weekend.... He said Bama has a “good” chance. It is down to Bama and Georgia most people believe.

Where's all those UGA supporters now? :p Looks like we're not even behind UGA now. We appear to be 3rd now behind Bama & UGA.

Oh well, I think most of us expected him not to come to Knoxville anyhow but Bama? :eek:hmy:

Here's the lastest on Gibbs from ESPN:

The Loganville, Georgia, native has taken notice of Georgia’s third-ranked recruiting class, which consists of three five-stars commitments. Gibbs, however, says he feels no pressure to commit to the in-state Bulldogs.

“No pressure at all,” Gibbs said. “At the end of the day it’s my decision, even though they have been picking up a lot of great guys, there’s no pressure on me. It’s my decision. If I want to go there -- then fine -- I’ll go there, if not, then on to the next."

Despite not feeling the pressure to attend Georgia, Gibbs admits the Georgia recruits have been relentless in their pursuit of the second-ranked athlete in the country.

“Hard is not the word. They are coming at me extremely hard,” said of the Georgia commits. “That’s their job, that’s what they are supposed to do. If I were committed to a school, I would want to go after a player that I thought was pretty good.”

When Sunday rolls around, Gibbs said his decision will come down to five factors.

“Really, it’s going to be about my position coach, how can I fit in their system, opportunity, how do I relate with the team, and do I have a feel for their campus, location and school.

“I have my mind made up already. They just fit in with the five factors I was really focusing on. Every one of those factors was checked off. My family knows and they are on board with my decision.”

Five-star Deangelo Gibbs has one school in mind - On The Trail- ESPN
