The rich get richer and the poor stay poor. Yet another huge recruiting miss. Oh well. I am sure we have another Cam Sutton like 3* diamond in the rough though.

Hey guy, we can all chip in a few dollars to send you to a massage parlor that specializes in happy endings. Maybe that will put a smile on your face.

Compare the number of recent NFL DB's Mel Tucker has coached to the number of recent NFL DB's Willie Martinez has coached and that'll tell you all you really need to know about this recruitment.

Well Mel coached in the NFL, so that is a dumb comparison. He was run out of the NFL. We all know that that is Saban's defense in Bama.

Splitting hairs. When it comes to coaching/developing NFL defensive backs, the two resumes do not even compare. This was a business decision. Obviously Gibbs, his cousin Reed, and his uncle Reed's father that played in the NFL, all feel that the staff at UGA give them a better chance of getting to the NFL than Martinez. I hate it too, but this is how it is.

Eric Berry was a top 5 pick on Tennessee teams that were trash.

The philosophy that a coach can get you into the NFL only goes so far. Who would have guessed Khalil Mack being a top 10 pick and all pro out of what was it, the university of Buffalo? LOL

Over rated discussion unless we're talking about Saban IMO.

And Jerry Rice played for Mississippi Valley State. That doesn't change the fact that 9 times out of 10, a blue chip prospect with NFL aspirations is going to go where the coaching staff has the best track record of getting players drafted at their respective position. Yes, these players go where they can feel they can win, but just as many go where they feel they have the best chance of getting drafted. If you are a 5 star DB, are you going to go to a program where the DB coach may not have produced a single NFL draft pick in his last 3 stops or you gonna go where the DB coach has not only coached pro ball himself but has also been part of a program that's been putting them in the league like factory work? If you play the odds, you're gonna go where the odds are in your favor over a place where you can only hope to be a diamond in the rough. I don't like it any more than you do, but it is what it is.

I'm sure the narrative is the same for guys like Higgins and Wray. I hate to say things like this because these coaches are people too and their jobs are on the line, but we need upgrades at certain positions in the worst way or this will be an ongoing narrative.

Giving the cousin a scholly when we were only offering a PWO did not help. Is Gibbs worth two scholarships?
