But over time it will reflect well on Heupel and with kids down the road when their peers tell them that they were deceived. Be upfront, in the long run it pays off. GBOThis is the biggest problem going up against Kirby in recruiting.
Heupel can be honest to the kid and his family but if Kirby is willing to lie to get who he wants, there’s not much he can do.
I don't know. There are some folks that are quick to surrender at the slightest sign of struggle. I don't know their preferences in other things though and really would prefer not to know.
this. it's been a "known" that UGA was the dream location...but the position issue outweighed it. but we all knew that had he not been dead set on staying a WR...he'd probably of committed to UGA a while ago.I’m not necessarily “giving up” on Mikell, but this exact scenario is what most have been predicting for months about this particular recruit and until this recent update VQ was mostly glowing about our position with him and pointing towards us likely being the choice. VQ is now doing their classic shtick where they plant the seeds of disappointment across a number of updates that ultimately leads to the news you expect.
Perhaps Mikell is smart enough to read through Kirby’s snake oil, but his “dream” scenario is starting to become viable which is UGA allowing him to “play” WR even if we all know where he really ends up.
Matthews doesn’t count as “all these”? Bennett Warren? Jordan Ross? If the beta’s aren’t correct and Mickell ends up in this class, that’s enough to tilt the scales…or he doesn’t factor one way or the other? How about Seaton? Costco trip for razor blades averted if he signs up? Lot of surrender for even less confirmed loss imo.Not sure why we cant get over the hump with all these elite recruits. Anyway, find some Dlinemen.
Good class, not great.
yeah, i think this class may be the best class we've had, top to bottom, in 20 years...w/or w/out mikell, seaton etc...though get them both and it's a no brainer in my book.Matthews doesn’t count as “all these”? -VQAt this point, we feel like everyone is in wait-and-see mode with Kam Mikell. His senior season is close to concluding, and once it does, he will be on the road for more visits. Georgia is likely to be up first with a November 4th visit, and he will make it back to Tennessee on November 18th, while Colorado is working to get him to campus on November 11th. The Vols remain deep in this one, and we believe Colorado may be the biggest competitor for Tennessee here. Deion Sanders’ program is pushing the opportunity for Mikell to be a two-way player hard in this one.
-Matt RayI talked to multiple folks yesterday, and fhe common theme is that one is up in the air. Colorado is in it deep, and probably TN’s biggest competition. . I don’t think Georgia has a lot of optimism at this point, but we will see what happens there if he makes to Athens next weekend. A&M is out right now imo.
