Respectfully disagree. That’s the story. There’s a reason he was CB’d there in May of this year ahead of his OV - everyone expected him to commit then. But he liked the pitches from other schools (mostly us) about playing WR and UGA’s adamant stance that he would play DB there made him put them on the backburner. But a variety of factors, including UGA losing at least one WR commit (Ny Carr), changed their stance. At first it was thought - based on Mikell’s own words, that a change would seem disingenuous, but they’ve done a good job spinning it and are now right at the top with us.Unfounded speculation

Frankly it’s a credit to our staff and brand that we’re in this deep with a GA who the back to back champs covet so much. If he ends up going there it won’t be, IMO, through any fault of our staff’s but rather the simple fact that in the end this kid just always wanted to go there. Happens all the time, sometimes in our favor too.
UGA currently has 28 commits. I know the 25 cap had been lifted but I haven’t seen them lose a ton of guys to the portal. At some point they won’t be able to sign anymore.
He’s not coming today confirmed. Sorry if someone already posted this
“We spoke this morning, and he will not be in today. I take him at his word on having the flu because he has been genuine with me throughout. He had IVs to be able to play last night. He told me he’s seen everything at TN and today would have just been about being around the people. Take it fwiw, but I do not think a final decision has been made yet.”

It's been an uneasy, up and down, with a predominant feeling of losing on the wanted recruits this whole cycle.Hope he gets well soon. Just sucks that he won’t be there for an environment that could have hopefully but us over the top.
Disappointing to see quite a few guys that were planning to be in this weekend (Bates, Mikell, Smith) deciding not to come. Guess we can at least focus all our attention on Seaton now Just not going to be as big of a weekend as we originally thought sadly.

Marquez North came in his freshman year and played great. He was never the same after getting speared in the back on a high throwI can’t think of an immediate impact freshman WR we’ve had in a while. Squirrel didn’t do much, at least not till later in the season. Hyatt wasn’t that great until his junior season. Maybe DaRick or Justin Hunter were the last ones? Guess we really shouldn’t be expecting much from any freshmen, WR or other positions either.
I liked the Bulldogs a lot back in May when I logged a 247Sports Crystal Ball and I’ve hung on to that prediction despite perhaps liking Tennessee more at times here in the fall. Mikell was supposed to be in Knoxville this past weekend for the game between the two teams but was under the weather and couldn’t make it.
Kirby Smart, Fran Brown and the two-time defending National Champs have really turned it up for Mikell as of late as he’s a coveted target they want to add to a class ranked No. 1 nationally by 247Sports.
