with past coaching staffs, hearing that we're recruiting guys for offense while the powerhouses were recruiting them for defense felt like the only reason we got those guys. Nowadays when I hear it, I know that our redneck savant of a coach sees something that others don't. I mean, we have an absolute stable at WR, RB, and now TE and Heupel's like "I can turn Walk ons into 3rd round picks and 200 yard receivers into Belitnikoff winners and you're welcome to come compete for spots on the best offense in the country". I mean, If a kid wants to compete with:
He isn't ready to commit and Georgia isn't ready to take him on offense. He plays a lot of Wildcat QB in high school, so there's a greater learning curve for him in college as a WR. But, he has the potential to be an absolute weapon in our offense. This is a similar recruit to Sylvester Smith from last cycle in skill set. Mikell is taller and more explosive though. So we could possibly have an inside track so long as uga won’t let him play wr?
Reading the practice reports, it looks like our WR depth is thin as it is (with Bru, Squirrel and Leacock out we were running some walkons with the 2’s), plus losing a few guys after this year. Might not be a bad idea for us to go full throttle for both this guy and Wingo to build our depth there
Heres hoping, if we dont want to take 5 wr’s then we’d have to go to the portal anyways, might as well take a freshman instead so we can have the full eligibility
If they keep taking commits there will be a lot of Georgia players in the portal this post season. How many kids is GA gonna sign this period? Every time I come on here and read a kid's thread, I see GA in the mix, leading, or pressuring for a commitment... They can't take everyone, their NIL isn't that big, and why can't kids see they will be in the 2-3 deep for several years or come here and most likely have a chance to start by year 2. Crazy.
