'19 GA ATH Owen Pappoe (Auburn signee)

Where did you see this? Announcing anything when you are already committed somewhere doesn't make sense unless he is flipping.

Would have to go back to find which site said it. Someone said he would announce a final decision all American week.

This is one of those where he may be undersized and a tweener, but the perception of winning a huge recruiting battle against rivals makes all the risk worth it.

His frame is more slight than many people realize and his legs are thin. It raises the question does he have the frame to be an every down ILB in this type or system? UGA and Bama do not seem to think so.

I hope we get him and can sort it out later. At worst he could be a great sub package player in Nickel or Dime.

So the kid that literally set a combine record is not good enough to play every play as a ILB good lord.... this is ridiculous. All he needs is the Vols weight program under Coach Fitz he will put muscle on Pappoe. I guarantee if he comes to us he will start by game 1. He is an early enrollee which means he will be conditioning from January until September before his first game. That is roughly 7-8 months to add weight and get into college shape.

People saying that he can’t play every play in the SEC is ridiculous just like people saying he is too small. There is a reason he is nicknamed “The Freak.” This kid is going to be a starter wherever he goes.

At his current size SS would probably be his best fit. But I would beef him up with about 20 lbs. muscle and make a LB out of him.

Yes that is what the prototype NFL OLB size is now. 6 feet to 6'2 at 230-240 lbs with great athleticism and speed to cover the WRs and big enough to defend the run.

Crazy stat I saw yesterday in the Seattle and LA game. Seattle only team in NFL with more run plays versus pass plays. I think at 51% run and 49% pass.

I read that he wanted to sign during the early signing day which is in Decemeber. He would be able to sign at a school then and other schools would have to stop recruiting him. The school he signed with can keep this a secret but the information would leak for sure and it would only be so much of a secret.

I don't think they have to sign if they just enroll. Once enrolled it's pretty much binds them to the school. Remember when kiffin took off in the middle of the night? Orgeron encouraging ees not to attend class?
So now we have those that sign in December which may or may not enroll early. Those that enroll early and sign in February. Plus those that sign in February. Correct?

OP is a freak athlete and can play whatever position he wants: ILB, OLB, Star. The idea that he's too small to play the linebacker position is insane. He's only started to begin filling out his frame, but he still looks chiseled and defined. OP will be part of the foundation for the Tennessee defense for years to come. Let's close this one.

The December signing date was intended for those recruits who KNEW where they were going and wanted the attempts to flip ended. It’s beneficial to those who aren’t qualified or are at high schools that don’t accommodate early graduation (like Guarantano). I believe the December signing period will eventually not be the huge number grab it was in it’s debut season. There are plenty of recruits that aren’t ready to make a decision until Feb...and the few megastars who wait past that date.
