You also stated an opinion after the question. Anyways, I misread the intent and apologize. I am curious how an 4-8 0-8 team goes 5-7 2-6 and statistically performed better and yet there’s no improvement?

I see what you’re saying but the eyeball test says we are the same team unable to sustain drives, establish line play on either side of the ball or tackle consistently. Those are all items that improve with coaching... do you think those have improved, winning an additional game is a tiny piss in the bucket for me.

Logic and common sense have no place on vol nation

You guys are so cute arguing with each other over a highschool kids decision as if you already know who the ink has dried with. Couldn’t be me.

Honestly, I think the second year in S&C will show the most improvement. Tennessee just got bullied all year.

If you weren't already a huge vol fan?
Recruitment depends on a lot of factors. Playing time, relationships, proximity to family to name a few. Even without being a huge Vol fan, if TN met my individual requirements, their performance with a new coach the year prior to me coming would not effect my decision.

Well the writing is on the walls for him to send out his “respect my decision” post. Being as ridiculously talented as he AND being coached by one of the best defensive minds in the game is lingering in his mind. Of course the Vols taking down auburn in their own house under a first year head coach had some effect on his recruitment with us but I don’t see the rest of our season making a bad dent in him comin to UT IF he comes. Day 1 starter and making the entire Vol nation crap their pants with his commitment would be enough for me. IMO..he’s a Vol.

Ok so as a recruit what is the positive selling point to being a vol? No improvement this year IMO, early playing time maybe... other than that it’s just a promise and same false hope Butch was selling.
Not quite. We won games we were not supposed to, and these coaches are not BJ caliber. Recruits were told this year would look like this.

There was improvement this season. A lot of players got better. We just didn't improve much as a team, although the overall and conference records were better, and there were the 2 upsets of ranked teams.

But it's not rocket science. All coaches that take over bad teams are selling early, maybe immediate, playing time. Watching the Mizzou-Arkansas game yesterday and Rick Neuheisal stated that Morris should have an easy time making that selling point to recruits. What most elite recruits want to know is wil you develop their skillsets and get them ready for the NFL. That's how Kirby was able to pull down the #1 class after going 7-5 his first season. Because they knew he had been an elite DC under Saban and has championship rings who put a lot of kids into the NFL. Pruitt can sell the exact same things as Kirby except that he can say he won an NC at 2 programs.
