I'm curious as to what ole Gus could have told Pappoe to ease his mind?
'Owen, ignore the fact that I signed a contract to reduce my buyout so the university can fire me easier. Also ignore the fact that all of the coaches and coordinators only have 1 year contracts. Probably shouldn't pay attention to the kid whose redshirt count we botched. Other than that, we plan here to at least be here one year of your college career.'
If we land To'oto'o and/or Marshall, to go along with Henry and Russell, we will be just fine at LB.
Did you mean to leave Crouch out?Next year we'll still have Darrell Taylor (more hand in the dirt, but still), Bituli (who has long arms and showed flashes), JJ Peterson (hopefully will be in shape) and Ignont who got some run. Add Lakia for immediate PT, and top it off with Russell for depth and a surprise like Marshall or Tootoo, we'll be okay. Best is still yet to come.. LB recruiting will probably be a big focus of the 2020 class, I'd imagine.
This may literally be the biggest fantasy yet most positive response I've seen in a long time. You forgot, "But if not all of this, Owen could always flip a hat and come to UT." I like this guy, and I also liked Chism as wellNext year we'll still have Darrell Taylor (more hand in the dirt, but still), Bituli (who has long arms and showed flashes), JJ Peterson (hopefully will be in shape) and Ignont who got some run.
