Sorry it has been hectic few days. A lot of really bad beats. But in the end you have to take every shot and just trust what these kids tell you the night before knowing very well we (and I mean WE) may still strike out...that is recruiting in the SEC. I don’t mind any negative folks talking about missing on predictions...I did exactly like I always do....tell you where these kids have told us they were going the night before they sign....if it happens great...it not it is simply part of college recruiting.
Deal here specifically was he wanted to be a vol...told us he was a vol. the barn got in and had conversation with his family. The next thing you know the father and mother are now telling the kid that the family will no longer let him in the house and be a part of the family unless he honors his original commitment. So you see what happens. Truly a sad situation.
Honestly we were on the verge of loosing some thought to be SOLID commits down to the wire that took a LOT of effort to keep committed day of. I am still happy with this class and there are still 2 to 3 fish we are going to throw everything at to keep them solid with their word.

They had money to lose if the kid came to UT. Hypothetically speaking of course, but what if they put 50-75k in front of the family and said it’s theirs as long as he signs with AU. That’s life changing money for some folks. So I can believe that, especially if Auburn is involved.IF his parents truly told him that they were disowning him and kicking him out of the house and family, that’s the most insane thing I’ve heard in a very long time. I’ve heard some wild stuff with recruiting before, but that would take the cake.
I just don’t buy it. Because as you mentioned, 17 year olds change their mind and tell people what they want to hear. If you can’t trust his word one day, probably can’t trust it the next.
