Immediately after Pappoe shut it all down I remember seeing a few posts on here and TOS saying that Owens parents shut UT out. Also it was reported by VQ that UT coaches were no longer allowed back in the Pappoe house. IDK about you but when I was in high school I wouldn’t be able to dictate who was allowed to be in the house. I think that might hint that his parents really did just totally shut down UT.

Man that’s sad though. I understand wanting a kid to go to said school but why not just ask UT for same offer. I would...just sayin

So you see what happens. Truly a sad situation.

Honestly we were on the verge of loosing some thought to be SOLID commits down to the wire that took a LOT of effort to keep committed day of. I am still happy with this class and there are still 2 to 3 fish we are going to throw everything at to keep them solid with their word.

Things happen. I have tons of questions I'd like to ask about different recruits, but I figure this week has been brutal, so I'll hold off. It'll be interesting to see where we go headed into February.

At this point, he's signed, sealed, and delivered so he might as well go all in on Auburn. Very easy for me to believe he was torn and wanted to join his friend here.

At least he kept his commitment. May have not been his decision though.

Oh I don’t disagree with you. He was stoked about Auburn it from 12/5 on though before he signed. It’s just the bit about his family disowning him that doesn’t jive with me.

I could see it but take out the drama of a high school kid telling the story. Reality would probably be closer to a major guilt trip over how much ___ would help the family.
But accounts always seem a little embellished at that age.

Forget any butthurt. Auburn's entire class seems a little suspect given the whole of the situation down there.

I’m telling ya...I don’t doubt that some of these schools threaten to be able to get the parents fired from their job or something along that line. Still don’t understand how parents can force their kid to go somewhere he doesn’t really want to be, and especially when you know that coaching staff may not even be there next year. Smh! Unreal.

If my parents told me that I couldn’t sign to with another school, then I would pack my bags and moved out anyways. If I knew that all I had to do is be an EE, then I would just go and get my dorm room, and be done with it.

True....but if your parents had sacrificed a lot for you to be where you were, I doubt most people would just turn their back on their parents. No one knows the parents financial situation...

Twitter, like with any social media platform is a brief snapshot of someone's life....their best face so to speak. Many people are living the perfect life if you just go by social media.

Hard to believe the story, but if true, screw Pappoe’s family. It doesn’t matter where he went to school, I can’t imagine doing that as a parent

I find the disowned from family story a bit far fetched and exaggerated. I don't doubt a coach might have used that as part of explanation of why a kid was lost but i don't see parents disowning a kid because he picks TN over Auburn. They would be the worst of the worst scum on the planet to do such a thing. I don't think it was that serious. I think it was simply t TWill had their heart and auburn would best our bid no matter what. It's not like Pappoe didn't like Auburn. Maybe Pappoe said that to someone so they wouldn't hate him but as a parent I could never see how that could even be a thought process
