Plans to be in Knoxville yet again this weekend. His Twitter is basically a UT social media site.
I mean...you're not wrong. This year is make or break for Jones here at Tennessee. If we flop this year, it's very unlikely that he will ever be able to amass this much talent here again...but if we win big, then there is almost no limit to how high this thing can go.If this kid lives up to his promise and becomes the #1 player in the 2019 class, its possible we could land the next 3 #1 players in the country.
The #1 player in the 2017 class according to ESPN is Trey Smith a Tennessee native. The #1 player in 2018 according to 247 is Trevor Lawrence who grew up a Tennessee fan. And now Owen Pappoe has been getting hype as the potential #1 player in the 2019 class and he also grew up a Tennessee fan.
The importance of the 2016 season cannot be overstated. If we can breakthrough and win the SEC and national title. The program could really get springboarded into a GOLDEN ERA. Talent in the state of Tennessee is been improving. With major success nationally, we could have an entire generation of kids growing up wanting to be Vols.
Tennessee could create the framework to have an in-state pipeline as loyal as LSU does now. Remember before Saban and the championship runs of the early 2000s, the best talent in the state of Louisiana was going out of state. Now they're an elite program simply because they keep the top 20 kids in-state each year.

I don't think this is a make it break year. They could under achieve in 2016 and come back and win a NC in 2017. There is a lot of young talent and we won't lose it all after 2016. I expect them to do well, and will be disappointed if they don't, but "make or break" is a little over the top.
So if we don't win it this year; you think we could win it after replacing our QB, top two running backs, 3 best defensive players and swapping Bama/Fla home games for road games? And swapping A&M for LSU? Maybe.....but I don't see how.
A year from now we may be better at QB than we are now. DLine is getting bigger and stronger. This year's freshman DBs will start next year and be smarter than they are this year, and are already at least as talented as our current guys. And who knows what happens with chemistry. Some great players left with Peyton and we won with Tee and some others. Not saying we will. Just saying the program won't collapse if we win 7-8 this year.
If we win 7 games with this roster then We will have all the previously mentioned disadvantages plus a coach with the hottest seat in the country.

There is a huge difference between the instate talent in Louisiana and Tennessee.
Officially the highest SPARQ of all LBs that participated in The Opening Regionals this year. Could potentially be the first freshman to ever get invited to The Opening.
