'19 GA ATH Owen Pappoe (Auburn signee)

I don't see much of a battle here... This kid reps UT more than any legacy ever has.

Yes but does he have an actual connection to the program other than that's who he likes?Does he have family in Knoxville like Khalil or a dad who played for UT like Warrior? It's going to be hard to hold his interest for three years if there's no tangible ties. Teenagers chance their minds a lot.

That depends on the teenager but to me, it's much more of a statement that he has such strong feelings for Tennessee without the obvious presence of any ties. I've never seen an out of state player rep Tenn as much as Pappoe does... and that includes legacies. Warrior and McKenzie weren't showcasing Tennessee garb as much as Pappoe does when they were 15. K-Mac was showing Oklahoma a lot of love up until the summer of 2014... Dillon Bates is probably the closest thing I can come up with. Hell, Warrior wasn't doing this until after he had already signed.

We ll see. I would just personally feel better about our chances if he had some actual ties. Maybe he will stick it out.

He's a BIG Tennessee fan. That doesn't always matter after a kid visits and gets a feel for how he fits in with the team and coaches and how comfortable he is on campus. Pappoe has been on campus many times and Tennessee hasn't slid one bit in his eyes, so him being a big fan growing up still makes a difference. It's certainly more of a tie than what Amari Rogers feels about being a legacy. Sometimes being a fan or legacy matters, and sometimes it doesn't. Pappoe being a fan actually makes a difference, and it will take major changes in the staff or a massive drop on the field to sway him.

Check out his new Twitter cover and profile pic.

Yeah... exactly. It may be strange for a non-legacy but I've never seen an out of state player rep Tennessee as much as Pappoe. He is either the biggest troll in history or Tennessee has a (cue Donald Trump) HUGE lead.

100%. Jame Cook (FSU RB commit) tweeted Pappoe an Oden emoji with a thinking face, and Pappoe tweeted back an orange emoji with a thinking face. This kid is all TN right now, no doubt.
