Crud, leave him at OLB! Why do we have to take everyone and make them a DE? This is probably what costs us this recruit. We want him at DE, and he wants to play OLB. Auburn is probably selling him on playing OLB.

Exactly. He flies all around the field on his highlights. He even plays WR on offense. All that speed would be wasted at DE, imo

They should just lie to him and tell him he is going to start off at Olb lol

Believe it or not but 6-4 is a bit too tall for LB. He's going to be moves to DE no matter where he goes. Especially with his frame.

Then compare what a speed rushing DE makes me n the NFL vs OLB

A sh!t load compared to 3/4 of a sh!tload. If u make it to the NFL and make it to your 2nd contract, no matter what position,u play, u will be a millionaire. I just think, with his speed, he could contribute, immediately, at OLB. That's what he wants to play, too. If u move him to DE, u have to believe, he will redshirt or need a year, in the weight room and in the S&C program, b4 he is ready to contribute. There are 6'4 LBs in the league, so it's not like he has outgrown the position, yet. He is just so athletic and fast, and right now, LB is a weakness. Why not give him a shot at OLB ? It's not like he couldn't be used as a hybrid OLB/DE that will blitz off the corner, on passing situations. Kind of a modern day, Lawrence Taylor

I do not know how to set up a link to another site, sorry. But, on Rivals, they just ranked the best LB performances, at the Rivals 5 star camp. In the "raise their stock" category, Jibunor was the 2nd kid listed. Yes, they said he could play DE, too, but said by the end of the day, everybody was in disbelief, how good he was. Also said, he could cover WRs, which not many DEs can. DB did once, last year, if I remember correctly. Plus, they mentioned, he hasn't played football long, and is still learning. Like my boy said above, Von Miller 2.0

Zach Cunningham was listed as 6'4 coming out of HighSchool and he was one of the SEC's best LB's and went second round in the draft

This guy is insanely athletic for a lb. 38 inch vertical, 10.95 100, and a 50 second 400. Realize he still has another year of track to improve those numbers too. Unreal!

I say that if Auburn is cheating and getting away with it, then why shouldn't we? I'm sure most of the kids are getting money under the table from boosters, anyway. This is one reason why I believe all college football players should be paid, that way the playing field is more level!

If you really believe that paying the players will do away with cheating, you are awfully naïve.

I agree. Can't see this battle ending well for Tennessee. Guarantee you Auburn is recruiting him as an OLB even if they project him at DE. Gotta be smart when you are in recruiting battles for elite kids like this.

If I am looking at 2 paying jobs where the work and benefits are roughly the same, and the salary is basically the same, but one company tells me I will get a very nice signing bonus, which one will I choose?

I know u are on here, MH. What do u think about UT trying to make this kid a DE? Don't u think with his speed and athleticism, he would be the perfect LB in Shoop's system? Plus, I think not recruiting him at OLB may hurt UTs chances of getting him

I think it's a mistake and I think it's also going to cost them when a final decision is made.

I can't for the life of me figure out why they wouldn't want bigger LB's if they are intent on running this 4-2-5 they've come up with. They continue to recruit like they are running a traditional 4-3, with how they want to convert all these LB's with any size whatsoever to DE and all these Safeties to LB.

Converting smaller safeties to LB when you only put 2 out there is a recipe for disaster in this league. You need 2 big, physical LB's who can play in the box.

I agree, it probably will cost UT. I think UT has to have at least one big enforcer LB in the game at all times. Hopefully, Bituli can be that kid for the next couple of years.

I think it's strange that UT is still recruiting Peters as LB, which I like, but he is slower than Jibunor and taller. Seems to me like Peters would be the more ideal kid to move to DE. But what do I know ?
