'21 GA ATH Tray Curry

Talked to his position coach.. There's not any grade issues.. its as simple as there's a few guys higher on the board than Tray.. They are starting to be very decisive on who they take at this point.. Tray was aware but wanted to go ahead and commit... just has to wait on a spot to open before Tennessee accepts his his commitment.

That means our coaches are honoring the prior WR commits even though Tray is better than all of them. You have to admire that...

He reminds of a WR that took the NFL by storm in 1998!

Okay, all who immediately started slandering the kid for bad grades should be ashamed.

So did the coaches accept his commitment? I've been reading conflicting reports.

I believe people were speculating that this might be one explanation - I don't think anyone was trying to slander him. Excited that someone this talented wants on the train. There have been recent past staffs where Tray would have been the best receiver candidate and/or athlete in the whole class.
Hope he gets in at some point. I will say this about this staff - they seem to always help the student athletes that don't end up signing with us - find new homes. It reflects that they care about all the people they are recruiting - not just the ones that sign with us. It says a lot about our coaches.

His film isnā€™t very good either

It was good enough to have him top 50 in America at one point.

However, the guy actually doing the film does a terrible job. But you can still see his athleticism on full display.

Those guys do corrections all the time. Film is meh and now his rating is an 88. High 3 stars are still college starters. Heā€™s a good but not great player

If the coaches thought Tray was better than our current WR commits, they'd take his commit instantly. Don't kid yourself lol

Nothing to kid. He is better.
But maybe they want all the guys they have and are satisfied and he's an extra bonus at this point.

We'll see. The coaches want him there.
Don't get to caught up in him not being on the commitment list.

Ok - I went back and watched some more of the film -- I think he is somewhat hampered by both his supporting cast - and, it doesn't look like some of the competition is all that stiff - but I thought his film looked really good. Reminded me of Juan Jennings in that he has the potential to be a big strong body target. I didn't see the broken tackles that you see with JJ nor did it highlight any blocking, but he makes some sharp cuts and you can't teach 6 foot 4, athletic and fast. I will assume with that body that he can block db's and lb's. I would be curious to see exactly how fast he is - he has a great frame for receiver as well as defensive end, I think he will be really good when the dust settles. I wish he would have been able to camp this summer - don't think his ranking would have dropped as much. With the competition he is playing there is not a lot of opportunity to outjump and high point the ball. If he gains additional strength - he could be exceptional.

We didnā€™t accept his commitment. Obviously Pruitt and co arenā€™t high on him and I agree with him. Good player but we have better players committed so heā€™s not a take right now
