‘23 GA CB Branden Strozier (Clemson commit)

Don't care that Strozier changed his mind or any of that.

What I do find interesting though is how this compares to Clemson's holier than thou position on NIL and the rest.

I happen to like Dabo. I think he's a good guy. I also think he's happily naive. Clemson has cheated since I was a kid. I was at NC State and at the game when Danny Ford confronted Monte Kiffin for turning him in. One of the confirmed violations for Clemson was that their female recruit escorts... were in fact escorts. They paid players as well.

IPTAY has always been flush with cash that they were all too willing to pass around.

Does this mean if he would want to come here you wouldn’t want him?
It depends on what actually happened.

If he did in fact make a video and tell the coaches he was going to commit to burn them... then no. I wouldn't take him. Bad look for recruits and players. Would detract from the culture of honesty Heupel says he wants.

If folks here have no idea what they're talking about... and he changed his mind late and informed the coaches before committing to Clemson then why not.

Edit: You know that Dabo lives by cheating, everyone knows that Dabo cheats, yet somehow Dabo himself doesn't know? I'm glad he beat the Marlboro Reds, but Dabo is a cringey dude. But striking three sentences and inserting a word, it's a pretty good take.

Imagine saying Dabo is a good guy, followed by the assertion that HE’S naive, while being unaware of the irony.

You don't know any good people who are naive?

Is he willfully ignorant as someone else mentioned? Maybe. But I get the impression he truly believes Clemson is a clean program that doesn't stoop to paying players. I'm sure their boosters would prefer that kind of coach too.

He’s not naive. He’s a phony sleazeball who hides behind the Bible.

He’s two faced.

We have a solid class of DBs and don't need anymore. Everybody that has committed wanted to be here and is solid as far as we can tell.

Too late. Schools like Clemson, Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, etc tell kids to get on board or the scholarship ain't there anymore once someone else takes it. We need to get an Alpha mentality like this, not a Beta.

You never changed your mind or “went back on your word” when you were 17?

We have around 6 DBs committed, so unless we plan to have 8 or 9 DB commits we are probably done with that position. I would not want to lose any of the kids we have for a kid who might change is mind again. Future recruits will know better. Kids can view your program like Alabama or they can view you like a low level P5 that is waiting with bated breath for you to change your mind.

I'd like we added a nice Dlineman and a true gamebreaker at WR

So you would have us take the Pruitt route? Wait for the elite stud and be left in a lull if they go elsewhere.

Recruits dont care about our attitude they care about our results.

Or maybe, just maybe, he did what he felt like what was best for him. Clemson, who has been one of the best programs in the country as this kid has grown up and has had several great corners, turned up the heat on him and he went there. He did what he thought was best for him and we ended up getting a great DB class nonetheless. You accusing a kid (I assume) you've never talked to of character issues because he had a better opportunity come up and took it

We’ll just have to disagree then.

Agree that we have a good class of DBs. But if Stroziwr wanted to flip to us you take him all day long.
