He committed on September 12th, so he's just a soft commit at this point since he's still setting up visits.

Last note, Zelus Hicks tweeted out earlier in the week that he wanted to come back. He told me tonight thr development at Tennessee was a key reason why. He was impressed with Will Brooks specifically and the way the DBs played tonight. The visit went very well from what I gathered, but now he has a couple of decisions to make. He can still reclassify to 2025 and is weighing that option. If he does, then he has quickly decide if he wants to stick with Texas. We will see what he ultimately decides to do. I do believe TN would take him if he chose to reclassify. I don’t know which weigh he is leaning on it because I don’t think he has a real idea yet.

Where do you think TN has Hicks and Merritt on the board if they take another safety in this class?
TN likes both a lot, obviously. But they are not going to miss a chance on Merritt by waiting to see if Zelus is going to reclassify imo. So the sooner Hicks decides on what he wants to do on that will clear some of it up. Tenneseee impressed him last night.

From a Texas board, was posted Thursday before our Game, so anything could have changed.

Like King said, most think he will be reclassifying to the 25 class



“Spoke with someone in the Hicks camp this morning ...

They will also make trips to Florida for the LSU game and Georgia Tech for the Miami game.

Teams now know they have to try and make a run at Hicks with it being 50-50 he ends up in the 2025 cycle.”

We already know this but how insanely loaded is the state of Georgia with talent. Hicks just got ranked as the 47th player in the 2025 cycle in Georgia and he’s a 90 overall 4 star.

Tennessee comparatively, only has 9 players in the state ranked 90+
