'24 GA DL Jeremias Heard (Tennessee commit)

So saying a guy with great measureables and nothing about his game is going to be an all time great is an accurate projection? Then every single player in every SEC class is going to be an all time great

He used the word "potential", and phrased the argument from that perspective. Why do you feel the need to create an issue out of nothing?

And your denial isn't my problem.

There's enough of you damn coach worshipers running around here.

We always have them. Even had them with Butch and Pruitt.
It's annoying...

I can see you're in one of your moods, annoying yourself silly.

Victim? Haha.
What are you talking about?

This kid is a project. Nothing wrong for good developers -like our coaches are- to take some from time to time. But to "doubt them not " as he put it? That's just coach worship.

And nothing blows up in my face if that was my intention to begin with😁
You don’t believe he’s worth a take. Others can disagree with that and still retain their football souls. The more you ratchet this up, the further on the wrong side of this you become.

The O-Line has been pretty consistent under Elarbee.

He has a very good understanding of what he wants in a player.

If he sees potential in turning him into an All Sec player, then I’m all for it.

I think both sides have validity. This kid IS a project because he hasn’t played football much. Football is a skill, it’s mental, and it’s physical. Kid can have all the natural ability and gifts, but never have the mentality or skills or understanding of football. Just like ole boy from northern alabama that we took who is a physical freak. He transferred to UK but still isn’t really playing.
Taking a player with great measurables and projecting him forward is what most schools do. That’s why he is a “project”

I don't think anyone argues that they can't judge pure talent. Or develop it.

That doesn't mean he's a good take, either.
Coaches get things wrong all the time.

Not sure why people always have to make something of "doubting the professionals".

I have great confidence in them! And if they got something wrong, then what? Do they lose credibility??

Point being; coach worship is stupid.

Only the coaches, right? I know you never personally get anything

Summer enrollee. Moves in later this month, but this same discussion was had about him last year. Is he a SDE? Is he a DT? Is he an OT? He was recruited to play defense and will start his college career there, but many were saying his future is on the OL. There was also the same talk of his NFL potential as an OT.
With his strength and quickness, he will be able to play either. Remember, he weighs about 280-290 LBs and has about 6% body fat. I wish we had 8-10 of him on our team.

He would look like an Adonis with 10-12% body fat - no way in the world he’s 6% body fat. That would be unhealthy for someone his age and size.

I know his trainer and believe what he tells me. If you saw the young man, you woulkdprobably understand. It will be interesting how his body changes when he enters the S&C Program at Tennessee. I am sure they will attempt to add more weight, but that was his condition when he signed his scholarship. By the way, it iOS not unhealthy to have 6% body weight as a teenager. It demonstrates how hard the person is willing to work to succeed. My hat is off to him.

I was reading up on the Giants last season due to Jalin Hyatt being an investment for them. Thought it was highly interesting that they were a physical mess with injuries of all types (their draft class was a who's who of walking wounded). Point? Remember when we worried incessantly every offseason if Craig Fitzgerald would leave? Guess who's their strength coach? ;)

Get out of here with all your nuanced, reasonable thinking!

I don't have a problem with the kid.

It's the unyielding, and unwavering faith in the coaches. So don't steer it where it doesn't belong.

Coach worship is one of the worst attributes of a fan. It blinds them
