'24 GA DL Jeremias Heard (Tennessee commit)

Was he just not evaluated before?

I'm not complaining in this instance, but it is kind of questionable to bump so significantly a kid who hasn't received any other offers, or camped, or played any new games.

But hey, I'll take it.

Looks like 247 hasn't evaluated him at all. He's been at an 85 since inception, so the bump is from the composite.

Not completely unheard of. It's also entirely possible he has offers from other schools, but just chose not to report them. He could value different things than other recruits including trying to bump up his stock for a recruiting service.

Man I wonder which of our recruits is going to pay the price for this bump and sink like a stone in the rankings…

At 6'8" 300 with his basketball background he probably already has the mobility and quick feet necessary for OT. That's something you can't teach, that guys are constantly training to have at that position. I think with that athleticism and background it might not take as long for him to develop into a quality tackle. He would see the field earlier on the DL but he seems like the type of athlete that NDSU would develop into a 1st or 2nd rd tackle.

I am excited to see where he ends up playing. Could be a hidden gem.

He’s at 4* 90.0 #27 DL at On3 Jeremias Heard - Model 9-12 - DL

so I am guessing no one is going to complain about the recruiting services making a change to a recruits ranking when there is no football going on?

Complain? No. Question the change? Yes. In don’t think any players should get bumps in either direction if no football is being played.

The recently minted 4-star made his way back to campus to be around the staff and peer recruit. He checked in at 290 pounds and looks like he is mostly muscle. He plans to early enroll and be in town for bowl practices. He also said after he committed that multiple schools, including Alabama and Georgia attempted to get him on campus for a camp session. He declined and has shut off communication with all other programs.
