'24 GA DL Jeremias Heard (Tennessee commit)

“Being back up here was great,” Heard said of the visit. “Got to talk to some of the coaches I haven’t talked with in a minute, and I also met new people, and new recruits that we can hopefully recruit to come to Tennessee.”
“What we are playing (on the defensive line), how we are going to play it, and about getting up here after the season,” the 6-8, 290 pound prospect said of the conversation with the two. “I want to get in early and it will be nice. I will probably graduate early and come up here and get ready ahead of the bowl game.”
Despite the commitment, multiple schools, including Alabama and Georgia tried to get Heard on-campus in June for camps, but he did not have any interest.

“I told them it is locked down,” Heard said of this. “I just told them I locked it up to Tennessee, and it was over with.”
“I am ready to play. My teammates love me and I love them. It is going to be exciting. I feel like my game has grown with speed and agility. I have been working on that a lot and lifting. My hand placement has gotten better. I think it is going to be better than it was last season.”

crazy thing is, sometimes people with the body of an nfl offensive tackle also have the body of an nfl defensive tackle. See Big John Henderson

JH (same initials...;)) is one of a few reasons i think we will be just fine at DL when all is said and done-- has legit interest from Bama and UGA. By end of season probably will have offers from them all after mid season tape is available.

His future position depends on one thing. Can he play inside with low pads. It can be done at his height but most do switch to OT. Either Way we have an extremely athletic big Man. In CHRIST Alone

This kid needs to stay on the DL side of the ball. His size and improved speed and leverage could make him a menace up the middle. Love his attitude about shutting it down in recruiting as well. Man made his choice and nobody is making him waiver. Love it.

A classic example of a physical freak with a risk/reward status that RG wants to take a shot on. I am good with it. Will his speed and agility and maximum conditioning level make him a contributor or impact player. TBD. I am really going to follow the progress or lack thereof of all our bigs that the staff offered and accepted commitments from early in the process. Feb. 3 star surprises are probably more worthy of suspicion.
