The ONLY thing im not sold on with this kid, is a quick and powerful first step. Can get bogged down and stands up. Technique can be taught. This kid is probably a contributor his sophomore year. If he early enrolls, the sky is the limit.

OL and DL are hard to evaluate in high school. Kids either dominate because they are just bigger, some dominate because of tenacity. Some dominate because they are fantastic athletes. Very few dominate with superior technique.
Why would he be a contributor by his sophmore year if Simmons hasn’t yet? Serious question. Don’t see it with this guy. If he turns out to be an average space eater that’s a huge w imo. Like you said no get off, slow pursuit. Lack of experience and technique doesn’t worry me. Not athletic to make a difference in the sec imo.

Because he's a different person?

Why on earth would you think that one player establishes a limit for another player?

So you think he will contribute by his sophmore season if he decides to come here? Don’t dance around the answer with big words plz

What makes you think he's not athletic?
There's not much tape to verify that or not.

Don't know. YOU don't know. The staff may be able to project his development to an extent which will determine whether they take a signature from him.

The one thing I DO know (let me know if the words are too big for you) is that Simmons development/performance or lack thereof has absolutely NOTHING to do with what this kid will or won't do. Matthew Butler was a 3* with great strength who needed development. He's in the NFL now. But that didn't mean Simmons would develop in the same way or extent, did it?

No idea about what kind of athletic conditioning program he has available now but explosiveness can be improved. A lot of kids have the raw physical tools it’s about the six inches between the ears and putting everything together.

OK. Let's dive a little deeper. Maybe you have more information than everyone else here and I'm selling you short.

What don't you "see" with this guy? Have you seen him play? Do you know him, his coaches, his opponents, etc? What specifically have they told you?

How do you know he is not athletic or have good take off? Have you reviewed his actual HS film game by game to determine that in comparison with other recruits?

I don't claim to know what this kid has. I do trust CRG to make a good call on a DL's potential... so why should we take your opinion on this kid?

We continue to hear positive things about Nasir Smith and Tennessee. He has not taken many recruiting visits in general, which is why he currently wants to use his official visit to Tennessee in September before making any decision. He plans to be in town for the South Carolina game.
In talking to folks around Georgia, there is a sense that there is a lot of untapped potential there. He has only been playing football for a couple of years now, but his athleticism is something frequently mentioned. This could be a big fall for him.
