'24 GA DL Nasir Smith (Georgia Southern)

What does that have to do with Nasir Smith, 3* recruit that weighs about 300lbs?
Maybe, just maybe some are making the case for lower ranked players actually becoming decent players players regardless of the coaching staff that brought them in or the position they play. Maybe it's just another argument that stars don't always matter. Maybe your thread policing skills could be better used in other threads instead of pulling these guys over for their license plate light being out.

His HUDL doesn't really have much content but I will see him against a Walton OL featuring Daniel Calhoun so I'll share my thoughts then. Probably won't match up against Calhoun much if any but it's on a big platform (Corky Kell)
I won't be there now but it is streamable if you have a NFHS subscription. We will have someone there tho. Just talked to him recently and should have an update up on the site sooner than later. Like where we are here

Honestly...I think I would like that as much or at least almost as much...I'm not sure I see a massive difference in ability and there seems to be less NIL drama surrounding Mikell...I'd be very happy with either...I'd be ecstatic with both

Absolutely.. And another name that doesn't get mentioned a lot but we are clearly near his top schools.. TE Roger Saleapaga as our 2nd TE, he's a High 3 and even a 4* on Rivals.

Why is he a project? The delay in offering was due to him likely choosing to wrestle in college instead of playing football. He is a top 10 wrestler nationally.

If you get 4 star consideration in SD you are probably pretty good. You have to go out on a limb due to level of competition on your highlight footage. Not likely to get a bump for the same reason.

Fair, but also recognize we’re turning our attention here after we’ve either whiffed on or not been able to get serious traction on guys we/he liked more.

YOU CAN NEVER KNOW what our staff’s evaluation has pegged a player’s ceiling and fit compared to some of the service’s demonstrated to date star ranking winners. Declaring doom before a year or so after ARRIVAL on an individual player is a fool’s errand when a staff is willing to go all in way in front of ESD and completion of a kid’s SR season. Shaving comes later for some.

This staff identifies, evaluates and offers prospects in a very efficient order. They cast the nets wide enough to have a high efficiency chance at no brainer 5 star/high level 4 stars they like but don’t dilly dally and risk going back to port without enough players who can PLAY for them! They targeted Ginther very early and didn’t fret that service nerds hadn’t caught up before offering and accepting his commitment. Coaches move on and build a program…message board recruiting experts have more room in the anguish shower. 😩

😂 I’m a visual person, and you have put this visual in my head…afraid I am going to see this from now on when fans are in the anguish shower!

I mean, Rodney Garner, a man who is sparing with his praise, said the other day that the DL is beginning to look like a championship team room. We have gotten some highly regarded DL recruits the last three or four cycles but mostly mid-to-low 4*s and some higher regarded 3*s (the two exceptions being Daevin Hobbs, who is just a freshman and the recruiting sites varied widely on his ranking, and James Pearce, who is just a sophomore and, again, the recruiting sites varied widely on his ranking) on the DL and Garner is putting them in positions to succeed at levels that satisfy him. I would prefer to land Williams Nwaneri, Kamarion Franklin, and so on, but I'm pretty sure Garner will find guys who can play and get the most out of them, and the current group is pretty solid with a chance to add a few more really good pieces in this class.

I am with you FOR SURE.....

It is all about getting the right guys. The upper echelon guys SHOULD have a much higher probability of upper level SEC production, but there is no guarantee. The most overlooked element in the STAR WARS GAME is that mid tier but not top tier programs are not blindly throwing darts at the 3 star board, but are extensively analyzing a much more limited number of guys and then trying to get the picks of the litter. If they pick wisely some of them can out perform some of the higher rated guys in front of them. It always gets down to EACH players ceiling. The upper upper echelon guys should have a shorter learning curve to their peak, but they CAN and are passed by 3 and low 4 guys every year. A loyal fan has to hope the staff chooses wisely ( or luckily) and starts getting class level comparative analysis after a couple of years.
