Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel was in to see the no. 91 prospect in the On3 Consensus for three hours Monday morning. Adam Fuller and Odell Haggins of Florida State are in town Monday afternoon. To close out a very busy Monday, West will visit with Auburn’s Nick Eason.
That is three schools in one day meeting, visiting, and definitely recruiting West. This is coming off an official visit to Florida State over the weekend.
It doesn’t slow down from here. After attending a banquet Tuesday night, the four-star will take a quick 24 hour official visit to Auburn Wednesday before leaving Thursday for an official visit to Tennessee.
Then comes the final decision.
West is committed to Georgia, but for some time, the intel has pointed to him not ending up a Bulldog. Based on multiple sources, Florida State is the frontrunner heading into these final visits.
The connection West has built with coaches in Tallahassee is what has positioned Mike Norvell’s program in a good spot late.
“Tyre is a relationship guy, so with Florida State being involved with him for some time now, I think that is what has given them the upper hand,” said one source.
The Tigers and Vols are still very much in the picture. These visits this week are very important to West.
Another source said, “It is going to be the school that meets his needs best. He wants to fit in like family where he goes, so getting on the Auburn and Tennessee campus this week is big for Tyre.
“That family atmosphere is likely what he will base his decision on next week.”
