No offense to anyone seeking academic excellence, but unless you are highly gifted, there is zero chance the difference in quality between one major university or another is going to make any real difference in the outcome. And conversely, a highly gifted person can excel anywhere.

Put another way, unless you are a prodigy, playing a Stradivarius isn't going to make you better. And at his prime, Tiger could beat you by 10 strokes with a 25 year old Wal-Mart 8 iron and cut range ball.
