I may not have made it clear but that was kind of my premise. They probably sold mom on USC's US News and World Report ranking vs UT's. Smart for them to do that if they saw it as an opportunity to win her over.If you think a USC football player has to do the same type of “academic” work as a regular student, you are sorely mistaken. I am friends with some former players from there. Just like anything else, they make it really easy for the athletes.
Oh so she gets to makes comments about the university being bottom of the barrel academically in broken English but no one gets to comment on it?Not about “winning” or “losing”. It’s about ignorant comments that are made about people being ignorant.
What does her education have to do with his? That’s my point. We clearly (according to the only one with true inside knowledge) didn’t give the info about academics that she needed/wanted. Idk about you guys but I know people of her generation. They all didn’t get to finish high school before they went to work.Oh so she gets to makes comments about the university being bottom of the barrel academically in broken English but no one gets to comment on it?
That makes perfect sense.
I get your point here though. We can’t assume anything about someone’s intelligence based on their background or dialect at least not with perfect accuracy. I still question her intelligence on the handling of the situation more than her ability to slaughter the written word.
Do you actually believe this though? That a competent staff wouldn't have something as basic as the school's academic information ready for a highly recruited prospect? There is essentially zero chance that Tennessee failed to provide her with detailed academic information. What she/they did with that information is another discussion. If Tennessee couldn't provide this basic information, that would be a HUGE red flag on the competence of this staff. What does her education have to do with his? That’s my point. Her education doesn’t really have much to do with anything, her being completely and totally FOS does. Do you legitimately believe academics weren’t discussed, any questions to do with them answered? Have you not heard kids in the past talk about what the engineering program is like or a tour of a specific academic program? There is zero way the ball got dropped on this one for a kid that’s high on our board. Does it strike you that Heupel or White are the type of guys that overlook things like that? What does her education have to do with his? That’s my point. -VQKameryn Fountain's decision to choose USC did come as a surprise. He had been trending to Tennessee for months and was set to go public with a commitment in August. In talking with folks, the family and the kid fell in love with the trip and hospitality and did not want to wait to commit. He is saying right now that he is not taking any more trips; however, we will be surprised if that holds up. There is reason to believe Tennessee will get another shot here later in the process.
