'24 GA EDGE Kameryn Fountain (USC commit)

How can you say it was completely off the table when it was never on the table? The NCAA learned a lesson with SMU that they will NEVER repeat. Get a grip.
Were you in every meeting when punishments were being discussed? No. None of us were. Therefore none of us will ever know if the death penalty was ever discussed. You and others who are acting like you know it was never a possibility look incredibly dumb for suggesting something you have no way of proving. But hey keep looking ignorant if you want.

Someone definitely looks incredibly dumb.

The only one looking dumb and ignorant is you thinking the death penalty would ever be used again. You have no way proving it was ever discussed.

Agreed. The point is some think they knew the death penalty was never even possible. That’s impossible to know. The NCAA could have given us the death penalty. They didn’t. But they could have.
The arrow is in the quiver till it is not! Just having it in conversations between recruits and our enemies is pretty serious stuff. A 2 year bowl ban and 10 schollies for two years might be the NEW death penalty. It was a good thing CPF was insulated from a probable knowledge path to create a firewall. Institutional control is still a big card if it can be played.

The NCAA thought that giving SMU the death penalty would be a deterrent. It wasn't. Teams still cheated. They just got a lot better at it and better at skirting the rules.

If they were somehow at the apex of respect and trust then they could try it again. They're not. In fact, there was some talk about major conferences walking away from the NCAA not that long ago. They're seen as incompetent and inconsistent... because they are. The kid for UNC makes a good example. UT has had several over the years caught in NCAA limbo for no good reason.

That said... they just blew a major opportunity in UT's case too. Regardless of what opposing fans think, UT discovered the problem internally and reacted appropriately. The NCAA could have looked at what UT did which in terms of actual $$$ was pretty minor and said that "This kind of self policing is exactly what we want to see- sentence is "time served" and $5 million". They didn't. They had to play "tough guy" and go after the scholarships of future athletes.

It is probably well past time when the 64 +/- top collegiate athletic programs form their own organization and boot the NCAA to the curb.

And it wasn’t…which would be required (at the very least) to levy a death penalty. Everyone seems to know that except the brick wall.

If it is still on NCAA menu AND IT IS it is a potential that can be shared with recruits till the defined hammer is applied. You can deny arrogance exists too, but it is still available for the REST of the free world to assess who are not limited by your own logic.

And lack of institutional control is a required allegation to levy the death penalty. It wasn’t alleged.

But the issue isn’t what’s “shared with recruits.” It was his claim that it was actually “on the table.” It never was.

It was on the table till the NCAA investigation was complete when they had to agree CPF other AD PLAYERS had zero involvement with the actual transactions or accounting steps to cover them up. Cornbread was the top of the involved food chain. The open kimono gambit was played to perfection from day 1. Could have backfired with one notification upstream proven.

More conjecture from you. Keep it up chief 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Conjecture seems to be your favorite word. So learn what it means.

“an opinion or conclusion formed on the basis of incomplete information.”

I said lack of institutional control is required for the death penalty. That is true. I said that charge was never levied. That is also true. So the death penalty was not an option, based in those two facts. That’s not conjecture. That’s logical reasoning. So is understanding that the death penalty wasn’t on the table because NOT ONLY WAS IT NEVER HANDED DOWN, BUT NEITHER WAS A PUNISHMENT REMOTELY CLOSE.

Conjecture is saying that the death penalty was on the table without any information to back that up. Continuing to accuse others of conjecture when we state facts in support of a conclusion is ironic. And hypocritical. And ignorant. But I get it. You’re not going to admit you’re wrong, even when it’s plainly clear. That would require a level of maturity you’ll never reach. Chief. Laughter emoji.

I've been clicking on this thread for a while, hoping, against all odds, it might have something to do with kameryn fountain or his renewed interest in us.

The thrill of the bolded font on the recruiting forum home screen and the possibility of any of this being actual relevant information keeps me coming back.

We lost interest in him a while ago. Notice he’s got no big boys calling, which is why he’s going to end up in Cocksville.
