Uh you don’t know that for a fact. With the amount of level 1 violations the NCAA could have easily given us the death penalty. So yes it was a real threat.
You stated that UT was facing the death penalty as if it were a fact. Then you tell me I don’t know we weren’t, as if the burden is on me to prove a negative to your positive assertion. Logic doesn’t work that way. You stated it, so prove it.

There is zero reason to think UT was facing the death penalty. A) UT self-reported everything and fired the culprits. B) UT didn’t even get a bowl ban. C) The NCAA will never hand down another death penalty after SMU. Most folks acknowledge that. When Alabama didn’t get the DP for the Means/Logan Young stuff, that became even more apparent.

But the biggest reason I know for a fact that UT wasn’t facing the death penalty?…the fact that TENNESSEE DIDN’T RECEIVE THE DEATH PENALTY. It’s really that simple. The NCAA didn’t give Tennessee the death penalty (or anything remotely close), ERGO, Tennessee wasn’t facing the death penalty.

Weird that had to be explained.

When was the last time any school received the death penalty? SMU in the 1970’s. The NCAA found out real quick that that one move put the NCAA in a negative light and the NCAA’s reputation has never recovered. There has never been a threat of the death penalty to any program since. So please explain how UT was going to get that penalty.

Exactly. It’s a ridiculous claim. There wasn’t even a bowl ban.

The NCAA could have easily given us the death penalty. None of us knew what was really gonna happen. That’s the point.

No it’s not. Claiming you knew the death penalty was completely off the table is what’s ridiculous.
Actually, I did. Because I’m not an idiot. I’m also not worried about a meteor hitting the planet tomorrow and wiping us all out, but I guess it’s possible.

Tennessee didn’t even get a bowl ban, so it wasn’t even close to the death penalty. Facts are facts. We weren’t getting the death penalty. No one ever will again. We all know that except you.

Is he visiting for the UGA game? I saw it somewhere on Twitter/ X, but you know you can’t believe everything you read on there.

Nothing about this situation makes me think he will be there more than a season. Entirely across the country for a staff that has zero interest whatsoever in playing defense in a conference that will play most of its games in the frigid, late season northeast.

Also rumors that Riley has his eyes on the nfl

The USC thing is about to explode. Riley will leave once NFL season is over & kids who signed with them might get screwed. Most big schools will be full by then

Tennessee would have taken them to court and won. The NCAA was never even going to think about going there with us or any big power 5 school. Tennessee turned it’s own self in and got rid of everyone involved. No way we were ever even considered to get that. No way
