'18 GA LB JJ Peterson (Tennessee signee)

The sad thing is, Kirkland may only may through 3 or 4 games before he gets injured again. That seems to be the case every year and its to bad cause he has so much talent. Here's hoping he makes through the whole season.

Hope he makes through spring ball.

Small but explosive. Be interesting what Pruitt does with him

There are a number of quality players in last year's class who needed to beef up before seeing the field. Their names are rarely mentioned in discussions, but I hope Pru finds more talent on the team than our skunk record suggests. .

Someone help me out here, is there any truth to JJ not qualifying? Or was that some BS that visiting UGA and Bama posters were spewing..

Let’s just say, IF there’s any truth to it it’s not because these goobers KNEW anything.

So far, it seems like the story about him flipping. Posted once or twice, and has served to get people coming around regularly and asking about it, so the rumor won't die.

JMO...

Taylor-Allen
Kirkland-Sapp
Ignont-Peterson
Bituli-Smith

J Taylor/Johnson
S Bituli/Sapp
M Kirkland/Peterson
W Allen/Smith

Gonna be fun to watch the battles for playing time. And it ain’t no joke tying to break this two-deep. Cannot wait to see this group learn how to play. Can’t wait to see what Pruitt and the crew coach these guys up to.

I agree...and if one gives any creedance to the composite ranking system as a measure of talent then this team has talent on both sides of the ball...as an optimist I choose to believe that and that it just hasn’t been developed properly...i look forward to seeing what this staff does with it, especially on D...I’m tired of having Swiss cheese defenses

You guys need to add Ignont... he isn't going to be on the sidelines this year.

Ignot has a chance to start.

Beside Bituli.

Peterson is going to be hard to keep off the field.

Kirkland for all his early success, hasn't really shown good physicality. Plus injuries...hes not a shoe in to start.

D. Taylor and Bituli could be our outside guys...

Peterson and Ignot inside.

Lots of good options.

I think it will shake out like so

(Jk) D Taylor. 6'4" 250
(IB) JJ Peterson. 6'3" 235
(MB) D Kirkland. 6'2" 230
(SB£ D Bituli. 6'3" 245

That is a LB core that can stop the run....and rush the passer.

I believe Peterson is the closest thing we've had to Kevin Burnett since him.... Maggit was no Burnett.

Would not have been an issue if he had signed with Bama. If they could get Eddie Lacy in school, anyone could get in school there.

One of either Kirkland or Bituli needs to be in the middle. Perhaps both. Taylor and Peterson on the outside. But you need that playmaking ability and leadership from the middle

Jk Taylor
IB Peterson
MB Bituli
SB Smith

Jk Bituli
IB Ignot
MB Kirkland
SB Peterson

JK Taylor
IB Reid
MB Bituli
SB Peterson
- this might be my favorite.

Shannon Reid is 6'0" 220.
Physical and fast. Athletic. Put 10 lbs on him. He'll be in the mix...

Jordan Allen will make an impact next year... His lean around the edge and his hands will make it hard for him not to be on the field next year.

It’s crazy to me that we seem (at least on paper) to be in such good shape at LB...typically in a 4-3 to 3-4 switch LB is the spot that needs the most overhauling yet here we are with what seems to be a highly capable 2-deep at the position...I believe we have at least 9-10 players capable of contributing at a high level already

Bama had about 10 guys who they were comfortable with starting at LB.

Allen will have his role as well.
Allen, Taylor, Peterson and D. Johnson will all need to create pressure.

Huge number of our current players were recruited by 3-4 teams. Along with Emerson, Lawless and the latest additions, we’re much more suited for the 3-4 than the weak azz 4-2-5 we’ve been sporting. At some spots we don’t have an IDEAL fit but many teams that run the 3-4 don’t.
