'20 GA OL Tate Ratledge (UGA commit)

Following a high school girlfriend or boyfriend to college is one of the first major mistakes one can make as they journey into adulthood. I think the % of people who marry their high school sweetheart is something like .008% or something like that. Canā€™t recall where I read the statistic but Tate is foolish and his parents are irresponsible if they donā€™t explain that to him. Itā€™s one thing to allow kids to make their own decisions. Itā€™s another thing to completely avoid guiding them during that process.

He wasnā€™t following a girl. He was going for Pittman

Here's some quotes from a report AtoZ put out tonight:

2020 four-star offensive tackle Tate Ratledge, who is rated as the No. 36 overall 2020 recruit in 247Sportsā€™ composite rankings, committed to Georgia over Tennessee during the spring. But that commitment could be a bit shaky now after Bulldogs offensive line coach Sam Pittman left Athens to become the new head coach at Arkansas.

On Sunday night, after the news about Pittman was confirmed, Ratledge tweeted that he didnā€™t want to discuss his ā€œsituationā€.
Rivals noted when Ratledge committed that the battle between Georgia and Tennessee was close. It seems likely that the presence of Pittman, who is widely regarded as the best offensive line coach in college football, is what propelled the Bulldogs over the Vols for Ratledge.

Will Ratledge flip to UT without Pittman in the picture?

That certainly seems to be what four-star Vol quarterback commit Harrison Bailey is hoping.
It doesnā€™t hurt that Ratledge is good friends with Vol commit Cooper Mays.

Based on 247 state rankings, UGA only had verbals from 4 of the top fifty recruits in the state of Georgia. For perspective, the 50th ranked recruit in that state is an .87. Talk about not locking down your state... if Tate flips, any traction with Broderick Jones?

Why worry about locking down the state? They're recruiting and landing cats from everywhere.. Ultimately that is where we want to be once again (and I know that we don't have the same amount of instate talent as GA)

Itā€™s going to hurt them. I think weā€™re already seeing it start to unfold. Have to build the core of your roster with instate players if possible. Means more to them

Because its the state of Georgia. The most talented football state now.
There's 3 other 5 star and two high ranked QBs that they're not getting from their own state. If you look at the top 15, everyone of the prospects fit what UGA does offensively and defensively.

Edit: Auburn has commitments from 5 out of the top 15 players from the state of Georgia!! All 15 are in the top 150 of the whole country including 5 star RB Tank Bigsby. That's alarming.

LSU will end with 3 out of the top 20 as well as locking down their own state of Louisiana. Geez...

If Tate flips and get Whitehead and hold o to Calloway that gives 4 out of the top 25 from the state of Georgia...

Kirby is having a problem this year

Obviously, weā€™d love to flip Ratledge...and heā€™d be the 5th OL in this class.....curious if we are planning on taking 5 OL if he doesnā€™t flip?

I was wondering that too, plus Cade Mays is in the picture, apparently, and he'd count towards our 25. I'm guessing Cade doesn't happen, Ratledge flips, and we take 5 OL this class. I can't imagine the staff dropping any of our other OL commits.
