'20 GA OL Tate Ratledge (UGA commit)

Because when you ignore your state and you have the #1 recruiting state out there someone else is getting those prospects. And when you slip, those instate recruiting pipelines are headed elsewhere for a while
Because they are reverting back to Mark Richt days. Coached in Georgia 33 years. By far the most arrogant, obnoxious and entitled coached were UGA guys. Two former Butch Jones vol Assts. were among the worst. A few years back 31 Ga HS players were drafted by the NFL. ONE played at UGA. When you continually alienate the coaches in a talent rich state, there are consequences. Pruitt is doing a heckuva job in-state AND building and maintaining relationships in Georgia and Alabama. Time and patience are going to pay off big time.

We say that every year but at the end of the day.. they still get who they want.. I understand your point.. keep those relationships but there's a variety of ways to do so

I have zero doubt some people went overboard in their reactions. But.... you have those folks in every fanbase.

I'm sorry, but I don't believe it's our fans that are that much different. Why tf our guys can't just pick another team and move along, instead of putting on some kind of show or trolling, blows my mind.
Too many get their kicks rubbing salt in the wounds but then act surprised by the reaction.

two words:

vol twitter

it's a real thing, both good and bad. lol. it successfully got GS fired the same day he was hired, and got us the TS Bowl over the MCB. and it's also the reason people love taking shots, whenver they can, at TN fans in general.

:)

His dad taking the power T off his truck wasn’t received well here either.

Not to re-litigate this, but why even do it? Just throw a Georgia one on there too. Every Tennessee fan would understand doing that for your son.

Also, if you are gonna do it, why get the media involved? It’s not really that big of a deal, just seems like they were going out of their way to be contentious.

Oh, definitely the most passionate fanbase I know of, good and bad. But silly to smack a hornet's nest then pretend to be surprised.

(Intentional Charlotte reference, just for you 😛)

i agree. but i understand it. i'm sure between social media, family and circle of friends, the hoopla surrounding the big time TN fan picking UGA has it's fair share of not so nice things said/shared.....

classic "F me? Well, FU" situation.
:)

and some folks only like being on one side of that equation.

meh. that's not his fault. and it's just not htat big a deal. anyone holding that against them is just dumb.

Every dad would support their kid 100%. He just went public with it. When you do stuff to get a reaction don’t complain about the reaction. I personally don’t care. I don’t have Twitter and would never trash a kid or his family. Definitely want the kid to be a Vol and dad to put the T back on his truck.

AP just now said on Swain's show that if Tate still visits this weekend to UGA, he'll likely remain committed to the Bulldogs.

Didn't sound all that optimistic for UT's chances. Said "Time is not on Tennessee's side" here and also hinted that the reaction of Vol fans to the video of Tate's dad taking the T sticker off wasn't received well.

EDIT: AP only briefly mentioned the reaction to the sticker video. He made it sound more like it was time not being on UT's side rather than anything else. Also said he's not counting out the Vols, but he definitely didn't seem optimistic.
So time isn't on our side for him to reconnect with a staff and players that he already has a relationship with, but it's on UGA's side to build a relationship with an OL Coach who's not even in place yet?

His son. His truck. Prob doesn’t give a rip what random UT fans think.

still didn't care then, don't care now. like i said, some can dish it out, but can't take it. and we're great at dishing it out.......we suck at taking it. as most do....lol.

One thing we have in our favor in a big way is that the smart thing for Tate to do is come to the team with the best coaches and the rising program which is us, and skip Kirby Dumb's choke machine, where the wheels are falling off and the frustration continues to grow.

What I tell my kids about social media or any public situations really:

It doesn't matter if they're wrong, you can't control a hundred thousand people, you just can't.

But you have complete control over what you do.
You can't even tell, for the most part, whether the people are real or false flag operations.

I think it's fine to take it off to support your kid. But, why post the video?
