'20 GA OL Tate Ratledge (UGA commit)

Obviously, we’d love to flip Ratledge...and he’d be the 5th OL in this class.....curious if we are planning on taking 5 OL if he doesn’t flip?
As bad as our line play has been over the years my vote is take all the blue chip linemen on both sides we can handle. It’s amazing how decent skill players become really good when the line is a force.

I was wondering that too, plus Cade Mays is in the picture, apparently, and he'd count towards our 25. I'm guessing Cade doesn't happen, Ratledge flips, and we take 5 OL this class. I can't imagine the staff dropping any of our other OL commits.
I still don’t believe Cade will graduate in time, but if he did his spot could be blueshirted. Hate credit card recruiting but he’d be worth it.

Not an insider at all. Just as an outsider reading through all of this, it seems this weekend will be pivotal. There's a lot of excitement here, and for good reason. But the fact is: he's going to be at UGA this weekend and will be Kirby's #1 priority. Seems like we have a lot to overcome, but should be cautiously optimistic.

If he comes out Sunday or Monday and says "I'm committed to the G", that'll be that. If he comes out and says nothing, the chase is on!

Because its the state of Georgia. The most talented football state now.
There's 3 other 5 star and two high ranked QBs that they're not getting from their own state. If you look at the top 15, everyone of the prospects fit what UGA does offensively and defensively.

Edit: Auburn has commitments from 5 out of the top 15 players from the state of Georgia!! All 15 are in the top 150 of the whole country including 5 star RB Tank Bigsby. That's alarming.

LSU will end with 3 out of the top 20 as well as locking down their own state of Louisiana. Geez...

If Tate flips and get Whitehead and hold o to Calloway that gives 4 out of the top 25 from the state of Georgia...

Kirby is having a problem this year
When you're limited to 25, it's impossible to get all the best players from your state. The population alone dictates how many great players are available. In Texas, the population is well over 25 million and there's a ton of great football players here. I would venture to say that the top 100 player in Texas could be just as good as the best player in most states. I will never believe that there's only 25 5* players in the entire country.

AP just now said on Swain's show that if Tate still visits this weekend to UGA, he'll likely remain committed to the Bulldogs.

Didn't sound all that optimistic for UT's chances. Said "Time is not on Tennessee's side" here and also hinted that the reaction of Vol fans to the video of Tate's dad taking the T sticker off wasn't received well.

EDIT: AP only briefly mentioned the reaction to the sticker video. He made it sound more like it was time not being on UT's side rather than anything else. Also said he's not counting out the Vols, but he definitely didn't seem optimistic.

The recent trend of getting mad at consequences is an astonishing one. We made a spectacle about not being Tennessee people anymore HOW DARE YOU TAKE ISSUE! I'M FOREVER MAD

So stupid.

So Dad is a GA homer. Isn't Mom the one who makes the decisions anyways? Should do what is best for himself. GA's line situation is going to get shook up. UT has Chaney for the foreseeable future. Should be an easy choice.

How tf did they expect people to react when you troll a fan base.

Go woof woof then. Kirby is on a decline. If I took off my UT stuff for the world to see and knowing the passion of our fans, I would expect backlash.

Cade enrolled at UGA on 1/5/2018. So, assuming that his degree curriculum requires 120 hrs to graduate, he could, feasibly, finish in seven semesters and graduate in the Spg, 20 semester. That would make him eligible to enter at UT in the Fall, 20 semester without restriction, and he would have two years of eligibility remaining at that point.

To be clear, AP only briefly mentioned the sticker video reaction. He made it sound more like it was time not being on Tennessee's side than anything else.

Why worry about locking down the state? They're recruiting and landing cats from everywhere.. Ultimately that is where we want to be once again (and I know that we don't have the same amount of instate talent as GA)
Because when you ignore your state and you have the #1 recruiting state out there someone else is getting those prospects. And when you slip, those instate recruiting pipelines are headed elsewhere for a while

merp aint happening
probably not. but listening to AP this morning, the one thing i thought he'd touch and, he actually went the other way, was the issue about time.....and contact. acknowledgd that there's been little to no contact since he committed to UGA.

but, my retort would be we recruited the crap out of the kid, he's made visits, knows the staff, knows the recruits, probably a lot of the players....i mean, from a "get to know TN" standpoint, i can't imagine there's a lot left to learn..........

to me, this boils down to one thing for us....will he take the call and listen? if yes, then who knows. if no.......well....that kinda takes care of itself.

so probalby nothing to see here............til there is.
