'19 GA OL Wanya Morris (Tennessee signee)

Doesn't sound like it's going to play well at any time.

no, it doesn't right now, so it is a risk reward type issue. if he's gone, he's gone....if not, and he does what he says he's going to do as far as shutting it down after 5-1, you put your best foot forward and keep to what got you here....being honest, direct and no BS (like pulling an OV so you can maybe get one later)

I didn't mean to insinuate that we strong-arm him with some power play by threatening to pull the OV. That's not good for anyone, and certainly won't endear us to him or his family.

More like discussing where we stand in his recruitment and saying we'd like to save his OV until he can see what we can show him on the field...however you want to schmooze it to him to show him it's in his best interest.

I think we all agree, win or lose, that 5/1 is not some magical cutoff. This goes down to signing day. I just hate to give AU the last shot and we have no bullets left in the gun.

I don’t seem to understand the attraction to Auburn.

Hell, their coach is mentioned in the hot seat off/on every week.

Isnt the visit to the barn next week also an official?

gotcha. i just look at it as water under the bridge at this point.

and i agree on the committment deal. though Pruitt has said, that when a recruit says "stop, i'm done", he tends to listen. i think as long as they take calls, he'll keep calling for sure.

and if his timeline info on 247 is correct, he'd have i think 2 OV's left he could take elsewhere. he's OV'd LSU, us and Auburn..... as of next weekend.

What looked like a possible strong o line class for us is starting to look more and more like a long shot. We really need a strong recruiting class this year but my gut tells me to expect another mediocre class by SEC standards.

We went 4-8 last year and have a coaching staff that a lot of recruits are wait-and-see on. Its going to get turned around, but its not happening overnight.

Anything less than a top ten class isn't going to cut it. The homers can spin it however they'd like, but at the end of the day, we're not going to hang with the Georgia's and Alabama's of the world if our players aren't as good.

correct. and we're still in it for Darnell wright as well. have Lampley, and Morris isn't the only other OL we're recruiting. i want all three of those kids, but you're right.

short of giving up on this cycle....in April....this player in this class isn't going to make or break anything.

but, at some point, we are going to have to get more of these kids to say yes. but i get the consternation. how do you 'know' it's going to be what they say it's going to be? we've been irrelevant for a decade.

they need to see it. hopefully this weekend gives a little window in to that.

like that's brand new information...'we need better players'.

we're not going to hang with the GA's and Bama's of the world right now anyway.

it may actually take 2-3 years. not 6 months. and what if we sign a top 12 class? fire him? not good enough? puhlease.

so you can bemoan the potential loss of one recruit as "not gonna get it done" all you want, at the end of the day, it doesn't change the fact we are where we are, and no matter who we sign in this class, isn't going to change it for this season, and maybe not even next.

I guess I just don't understand how these kids can be so wishy washy over such a major decision.

I was torn between two schools and I didn't even play a sport at the next level.

Ultimately I listened to my father and everything turned out okay. Let's hope mom is in our corner.
