'25 GA OT Juan Gaston (uga commit)

The biggest name on Tennessee’s board slated to compete is Westlake (Ga.) offensive tackle Juan Gaston. He continues to sit high on Tennessee’s list of priorities, and he has continued to reiterate that he will be back to campus in the spring to take in a practice. Georgia, Oregon and Florida State are the other programs that have his attention right now as this one will be a heavyweight battle.
Gaston’s teammate, four-star WR Travis Smith Jr., will also be in attendance, and he is one the Vols continue to keep tabs on at the receiver position. He plans to return to Knoxville in April.

Tennessee remains deep in the recruitment of Juan Gaston, but he appears to be in no rush to make a decision, as he has told multiple people he will decide in the fall and could take official visits during the season. Right now, an official visit to Tennessee is not on the docket for the summer, which means it could be a fall official, and this remains something worth watching, in our estimation. He will take several trips in June, including Oregon, Georgia, and possibly USC and Texas, but we continue to hear that there is a strong belief he remains in the South, with Georgia likely being Tennessee’s biggest competition at this stage.

Staying in the offensive trenches, Westlake (Atlanta, Ga) tackle Juan Gaston and his family continue to work on a spring and summer visit schedule. Communication remains positive and consistent with the Vols, as he continues to feel like Josh Heupel and Glen Elarbee are making him a priority. As of now, we expect Gaston to visit Knoxville again during the first week of April, as he plans to watch a spring practice and spend more time with the staff.

Next weekend will be a big one as Tennessee will host multiple big time offensive tackles. Both Douglas Utu and Juan Gaston will be in town.
As far as Gaston goes, he is a young man of few words but sources tell us that he and his family are very fond of Glen Elarbee. Tennessee is one of his top schools and he and his mom will be in town next weekend.

Juan Gaston is expected to take a trip to Texas this weekend, and then his family will take a week or so to decompress after a whirlwind of spring visits. Georgia covets the massive offensive line prospect, and they want to keep him home, but Tennessee certainly has the attention of the four-star and his family.
No one has recruited him harder to this point, and that means something, in our opinion. He still maintains the plan is to make a decision during his senior season. We believe late August to early September is most likely right now.

Juan Gaston has gone back and forth on taking an official visit to Tennessee before making a fall decision, but we are told this week the plan is to now take one and the date is being finalized over the next week or so. The Vols continue to remain a serious player here, and they will look to get him and his family back to campus over the summer if they can.
