'20 GA QB Harrison Bailey (UT SIGNEE)

Setting the Stage for The Elite 11 Finals...

-Barton Simmons, 247
I don't personally get it.

So I think Haynes King could be a very good player. He's got a good arm, accurate, and is very elusive.

.
But
...

I don't think he threw with his feet set one time in his highlights. He threw off his back foot with 5 yards of open air in front of him multiple times. Bailey's footwork is polished by comparison. Fixable problem, obviously. But it flies in the face of them knocking Bailey down a star and 40 spots because of footwork.

Then again if King commits here I'm sure they will bring that **** up.

It seems we’ve been really transparent with both guys. Both know about each other and understand that they’re waking into a competition. Honestly I still think we won’t be as stacked at the position as most teams even with taking two this year.

If you just look at kings offers on 247 and see what the other teams have on their roster ours is painfully thin.

So he’s got some things to work on
They can better each other
If Bailey is as advertised he’s gone in 3
And King puts on a show in yr 4

You realize there’s a better chance of walking outside, getting stuck by lightening, surviving only to be hit by a car and struck again. Right?

They know they’re both being recruited especially Bailey and he hasn’t budged. Knowing thousands of people see boards like these everyday it filters back or they have an account under a random name “just to see”.

Let’s just be happy Tennessee is getting a baller for once at QB
He ain't budging because King hasn't committed. I think he looks around if King commits

Seriously asking what makes you think that?
QBs are coming for playing time. No one wants to come in and sit a year or 2(depending on JG) to find out they need to transfer for playing time. It's good for "us" if we have that kind of competition and skill, but it's only good for one of these guys and they know that. I honestly think, whether he's saying it or not, that it bothers HB and it will bother him if King commits. He's 17/18 yrs old. Like all athletes, especially at that age, they have egos and 9 times out of 10, they are fragile. Sure the coaches told him they would take 2 qbs, but I guarantee he didn't have a guy of his level in mind. I do have bvs too, but I wish we would allow HB to be the main QB of this class and recruit a backup to him. Either way, we're losing one of these guys in the long run. You can't keep 2 highly rated qbs anymore. Unless both of these guys just want to Vols bad and want to come in and try and knock the other out and risk a year or 2, I don't see it happening

If King commits, and then also drops 50 spots... then that's exhibit A for this discussion.

So its all conjecture. Got it.

I don’t

He’s pushing people to UT while King is at the same event
Chances are high they’ve talked and know about it
Neither strike me as afraid to compete
There’s a better chance given they both end up at Tennessee one transfers after the season

I hope this is how it plays out, but it's a long ways until signing day

Piggybacking on that somewhat, let me use an exhaustingly utilized parallel...Stewart and Manning. Two super talented prospects with advocates in the fanbase clamoring fairly equally for their different skill sets. Looking back at that situation, at what point did CUTCLIFFE buy into Manning over Stewart? Damn early if not before either stepped on campus imo. We know now that Manning is far more talented...but not their true freshman seasons. In an all things being equal scenario, the deciding vote on practice reps and playing goes to the coordinator. Cut’s long term relationship with the Mannings could indicate the advantage was hefty when it came to opportunities that season. Likewise take Chaney judging Bailey vs King against a defensive set...say a disguised coverage? Both make correct decisions but different from each other? Who does Chaney give the match to? Bailey can be hyped to compete against a talented rival but respect for that competitor begs that question...and it’s not a result of “being afraid”.

They’ll rate Carson Beck higher than HB no doubt. Cause UGA.

Didn't BS go in before Manning when Robinson went down? I can't remember.
