'20 GA QB Harrison Bailey (UT SIGNEE)

There are actually 3. Pro, DT and overall.
To use a Video game term. The meta in scouting and in the game itself is changing. In the past mobility was more an afterthought. DT QB's are undervalued it was always he can run but can he throw. Now its he has a great arm but is he mobile? We might be looking at the last of a dying breed when pure pocket passers were what everyone wanted. I think both extremes are wrong but kinda necessary now. It used to be each was separate and went into totally different systems but now with things like the spread/air raid which can work with both types it comes down to what guy has the best total package. Look at the past few drafts. Most of the pro types that were drafted would have been called DT's 10 years ago. Seriously think about it.. Before Vick, Steve Young, Steve Mcnair and John Elway were what passed for a dual threat QB. Pretty much every QB taken in the first 2 rounds this past year would have been a mobile freak in the early 90's and people would be questioning their arms. Like they did Warren Moon and Randall Cunninham.

Guys like the Mannings and Favre represent the last of a breed of Pure pocket passers. Not because those guys don't exist anymore but because with todays level of athlete you cant survive in the pocket. Look at todays top QB"s in the NFL. Check their rushing stats and they will surprise you. Compare that to even 10 years ago. Most of the guys we consider Pocket passers would have been DT's 20 years ago. Bailey is trapped in an era where lack of mobility whether real or perceived is seen as negative. It sucks. That being said I am glad we have him and I hope he p[roves those who doubt him wrong.

When I look at his tape I definitely don't see a statue. I honestly think if the guy decided to take off he'd surprise some folks. I also see a guy that needs some meat on his bones before he decides to try it. Better said he is just not dumb enough to put his frame out there like that. Look at him move in the pocket. He has great lateral movement avoiding pass rush. Let him put on 20 or so pounds in college S&C and fill out that lanky frame.

End of day we got our QB he is what he is and at this point I dont care what hes rated. I like him.
I was following along until I read the part about Brett Favre being a pure pocket passer. Dude had wheels and would kill you with a bootleg.

You realize there’s a better chance of walking outside, getting stuck by lightening, surviving only to be hit by a car and struck again. Right?

They know they’re both being recruited especially Bailey and he hasn’t budged. Knowing thousands of people see boards like these everyday it filters back or they have an account under a random name “just to see”.

Let’s just be happy Tennessee is getting a baller for once at QB

Was only joking. Seen that original thoight about 25 times the past month and can't believe people keep responding to it.

Someone needs to see it

To many aces left in the deck because of this kid and the coaches in no order for them to be unaware

Because he is a HS kid and this has never happened before in Elite 11 as BARTON states. That’s a pretty big red flag to his competition level to skip out unless he has a pretty big personal conflict
sounds legit. let's go with that.

I'd love to be Harrison Bailey this weekend... King chooses A&M, Harrison can talk smack all weekend about how King didn't want this smoke... King chooses Tennessee, Harrison can put on a show and say this is what you get to see for the next 4 years..

Would be great if King is undecided. He and HB hit it off, talk about rooming, and how they can make each other better. King announces beside HB at the end of the E11.

I mean, the main reason kids go is 1) exposure, 2) extra coaching, 3) fandom. He's already #1 - doesn't need the exposure. May not care about fandom. So it is then "extra coaching" - but at what cost? Flying from CA to TX on your own dime (I assume). Not everyone can afford all that for a couple days of 7-on-7 drills.

Fromm & Fields?
Not in the same class... there weren't "stars" in 1994 but Peyton Manning and Branndon Stewart were two of the consensus top 7 QB's in the country that class.

The others were Josh Booty (LSU), Ryan Clement (Miami), Brandon Ward (Georgia Tech), Hines Ward (Georgia - moved to WR) and John David Phillips (Alabama and a big time bust).

last time i remember two 5*'s signing in the same class was Bama and aTm a copule/three years ago or so. both resulted in transfers.

If we get both I’d say there is a 90 percent chance one transfers..let the best man win
yeah,i don't think there's any way both stay their entire eligiblity if they are both healthy thru out the early parts of their careers here.

and that's ok too. we need immediate depth and competition. the great unknown is JG. if he balls out this fall, and then bolts for the NFL or transfers, that leaves a void. if he balls out and stays, who knows if both actually sign....

And then I’d wish there was a sign and trade...
